We are compassionate to the medical needs of our patients, as well as the needs of our clientele. Dr. Walt Grambow grew up on Long Island, NY. He has lived in Ithaca, NY (while obtaining a B.S. degree in anatomy and physiology from Cornell University) and St. Paul, MN (where he obtained hisDVM degree from the University of Minnesota in 1992).
He has worked as a general practitioner in Minnesota, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. His professional passions include wellness/preventive health, dentistry, gastroenterology and cardiology. Dr. Grambow lives with his wife, daughter and son in New Hampshire.

Your pet is an important part of your family, and when he or she is ill, you want the best medical care available. Our wellness and vaccination programs are designed to prevent disease and prolong the lives of your companion animals. Our knowledgeable staff and our facilities allow us to deal with a variety of medical conditions your pet may experience.
Although we don't not have an on-site boarding facility, we can gladly offer you boarding and daycare services though our sister clinic Wignall Animal Hospital. Camp Wignall is a fully equipped, air conditioned/heated state of the art boarding facility with a full medical staff on duty every day. Outdoor camp activities take place in our secure fenced/gated play space which is always fully staffed.
In order to maintain our high standard of service, we require that payment be made at the time services are rendered. We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges. Have A Heart Animal Hospital is happy to accept Cash, Check, Major Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover), Scratchpay, and CareCredit.

Dr. Grambow and the Have a Heart staff are more like family at this point. My beloved cat and dog were patients for many many years and were treated with love and compassion until they crossed the rainbow… bridge in 2018 and 2020. My newest furry family member arrived last year, and I was so happy to return to Have a Heart! This office is a smaller operation than some other animal hospitals, but their care is personal, detailed, top notch!

I just Got home from being my little Ivy (5lbs Chihuahua mix) for an emergency visit, this was our first time here and from the moment I called until the second we left everyone from the front desk to the nurse to the doctor was absolutely amazing, they explained everything from start to finish and were so professional. I will now be taking my fur babies here from now on,

The staff are so friendly, helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. We have taken both our cats to them and I really like that they keep you very informed about what they have done for them and always follow up when they say they will. I also feel like they don’t push you to have expensive, unnecessary tests or procedures done.

They were awesome!! Dr Nicklees knew right away what was going on with saydie acted on it and I'm already seeing improvements slowly day 2 & daija was amazing!! both very educated on the situation and the procedure for covid safety was excellent! my dog's a handful and they still took care of her I recommend this place to all my friends

My dogs were patients of have a heart for many years. However during the pandemic they can not give me a proper estimate for treatment while my dog is very ill. Many years ago I had a similar experience, after spending upwards of four thousand dollars I could not afford to proceed with recommended treatment. At that point they reported my ex for… animal neglect (which he due to my care for the dog was found not guilty of). Seeing that they could not give me an estimate prior to a sick visit (not even a ball park) I am hesitant to visit their location out of fear of retaliation. Animal health

My rambunctious cat, who doesn’t like anyone, feels very comfortable here. Every time we have gone the staff has been extremely nice and the vet even took the time to explain how procedures worked before starting. Also, COVID restrictions are being taken seriously which is always a great comfort.
