Services
We work to keep your pet healthy and happy and to educate you to be a more knowledgeable pet owner. Dr. David Bowen was raised on a farm near King in the Chestnut Grove community. He graduated from South Stokes High School and received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from N.C. State University.
In order to provide adequate time for each patient and for our scheduled surgeries, we see patients by appointment. Emergency cases will always have priority. However, even in case of an emergency, we recommend you give us a quick call. This allows us to prepare for your arrival. If the doctor is in surgery or otherwise unavailable, we can help you find someone who can see you immediately.
The internet is a wonderful resource for medical information. However, there is also a lot of misleading, subjective and just, plain wrong information available. The following sites are some that offer reliable information on a variety of subjects. This site has info on dogs, cats, reptiles, horses, birds, ruminants, swine and small mammals.

Boarded my dog, Leo, for 4 days. Upon picking him up he was happy, alert and appeared well taken care of!! His transition back to me and home was as though he'd never been away!! This was his first boarding experience with King Veterinary Hospital. I've already made him another reservation. They are now Leo's "home away from home"!
Make an early reservation. They fill up quick for boarding!! My thanks and great appreciation for all you did for Leo!!!

The vet is wonderful but the vet techs who come out to take your pet inside are very rude. The first time I took my dogs here the vet tech was very stand offish. The second visit a different vet tech asked if I had written down on a piece of paper what’s wrong with my dog. Unsure why she couldn’t ask or write herself. I asked her what paper am I supposed to write on? This is after I called to asked about putting my dog to sleep and asked about the process. No response or sympathy. I found another vet to do this for me because I didn’t like the response I got. I brought my other dog instead

You call them when you arrive with your animal and they will come to your car and ask you a few questions and have you write down what is wrong with your pet... Then they will take it inside and do whatever needs to be done to your pet... The Vet will also call while you are waiting and have a consultation with about his diagnosis of your pet and tell you your options... They seem to be a very friendly staff... They wear mask when they come to your car and speak with you.. Will take my pet back...
