As a parent, it may feel overwhelming and frightening to think about seeking therapy for your child. Parents often feel their child is too young to benefit from therapy, and wonder if their child really needs treatment. Children often show us how they feel through their behaviors. Whether a child is anxious and withdrawn, experiencing frequent meltdowns, or behaving aggressively, these behaviors are a form of communication.
Most parents have wondered at one time or another "is my child okay"? If a baby is slow to crawl or walk, or doesn't talk in a manner comparable to other children his age, it's easy for parents to become concerned. Most times, these worries fade, because as time goes by, the child catches up to his/her peers.
Not at all. People who ask for help know when they need it and have the ability to reach out. Everyone needs help now and then. You already have some strengths that you've used before, that for whatever reason isn't working right now. Perhaps this problem feels overwhelming and is making it difficult to access your past strengths.
Dr. Critton is an out of network treatment provider, which means that she is not on any insurance panels, and does not accept insurance for payment. Services may be covered in part by PPO health insurance plans. Payment for services is due at the start of each session. At your request, Dr. Critton will provide a superbill for you that can be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement.
