I am obsessed with Pura Vida!! I've been going for years now. The cutest spot with the greatest owner. I LOVE Jenna and can't recommend her enough!! If you're in Dallas looking for someone to give you natural looking color and depth she's your girl! Plus you'll just love being in her chair, she's so sweet! She kills it on my hair everytime whether it's a cut, color or touch up!

I've been going to Pura Vida for 2 years now and I've had a great experience every time (with Sam). The Salon is modern with an earthy vibe decor that feels welcoming.
Now I really enjoyed my first appointment with Jack. He was super helpful in helping me choose what style to go for and gave me a wonderful haircut and perfect "baby" highlights. Made me feel very comfortable during the whole time and had a great chat. I'm looking forward to the next time!

Absolutely love this place! I got a cut and blowout from Taylor who did an incredible job! She listened to what I wanted (which was "I have no idea") and made my hair look incredible!
Everything was also super clean. Taylor cleaned her stations after using them, all employees had masks, social distancing was enforced in the salon chairs, and hand sanitizer was at the front door.
Can't speak highly enough about this place.

I haven’t been to a salon in a really long time and I wanted to cut my really long hair. Needless to say I was so nervous! All the staff there made me feel so comfortable and the women cutting my hair, Maria, was so awesome! She told me step by step what she was doing and made sure I was okay with it before she did it. We had a great conversation while she did my hair and it was overall a great experience and I am loving my new short hair!!

Over a year with Shauna now, and it just gets better! I am getting married next year, and Shauna has helped me craft an entire plan to get my hair into top shape before that day. The prices are very reasonable for Dallas and for the amount of transformation my hair sees each time I go to see her from mousy brown roots to icy blonde. She never pushes products unless I ask for specific recommendations in Kevin Murphy or Oribe, and we always have the best conversations. I don't mind spending 4 hours every 8 weeks with her, because it feels like I'm with a friend.

Worst haircut of my life!!!! Had my haircut there before I went on vacation/birthday weekend. I was horrified by the cut. Went back the next night to have it fixed and they had the same girl fix it ( I was very upset by this because she clearly did not know what she was doing. When I questioned them they stated that they always let people fix their own cuts).The haircut ended up even worse then the first one! Had to find a different salon at the last minute to attempt to fix the cut. They did well, but they advised me not to get my haircut for a few months due to how much the original girl messed

My hair was balayage blonde and I wanted a change but my hairstylist did not want to dye my hair a strawberry blonde , so I searched for a new hair salon and found Pura vida ... I set up an appointment with Shauna and looked at her work through pictures on her instagram... I shared my history of hair dying and I told her my goals she understood and we worked out a plan... She left my hair just the way I wanted it I definitely will be coming back with Shauna and hopefully she can be my hairstylist for a really long time..

Recently relocated from Portland OR and realized after almost 6 yrs I would need to find a new stylist. Someone recommended this salon so I took a chance and scheduled an appointment - gave them the low down on my hair and they paired me up with Gabriel about 2 weeks out. When I showed up for my appointment I met the owner James who was totally down to earth and very welcoming. He actually offered me a glass of wine, water etc and let me try one of his vegetables from his garden! The entire experience felt like I was hanging out with a really close family - they all support

They squeezed me in (thank you, whomever cancelled) and being new to Dallas, I've been looking for a place that can manage short hair. In a fun way. Without making me look old. Not local for me, but I make time because it is ALWAYS worth it. Shauna always listens to what I want, and my cut and color are on point! I've also been styled by Whitney and received many compliments during my outing later that evening. Last but not least, James DeFrange is the sweetest and is very innovative and current. As a natural blonde in the forest of blonde beauties of Dallas I decided to do something crazy and dye my hair red. Gabe not only gave me a natural yet vibrant deep red, he KNOCKED IT OUT THE PARK. The color looks beautiful, it goes great with my skin, the color holds forever it seems. I go in for touch ups not because the red fades but because my roots grow in. I love my red and I don't plan on going back anytime soon.

I was having a pretty crappy day when I randomly decided to get a new hair cut since moving to Dallas. Macey was at the counter and offered me options in stylists, including herself. She really seemed happy to be at work and was professional as soon as I walked in! She asked simple questions to what I really wanted out of a haircut.. something I… never really think about. I used James and his team for my wedding on May 21st and i cannot express how amazing he was. He attentively made sure each girl was absolutely stunning. He showed up early, in a suit and ready to go. He made my wedding day everything I was wishing for and MORE.
James is professional, dependable, reliable and a true artist. My wedding party consisted of 7 bridesmaids, 2 mothers and myself and every girl looked their best they have ever looked.
