With years of experience, I pride myself as a hairstylist who participates in ongoing educational workshops for cut, color, and styling. This continued education ensures that I remain a trend setter and technical leader. My color sense and sculpting techniques evolved when I was very young, which led me to obtain a Bachelors in Fine Arts.
Having a formal education in art, creating water color and oil paintings, and years of training and experience in the hair industry have given me a strong advantage over other hair stylists. My specialties are color, including highlights, block colors, and color correction. I also specialize in curly-hair cutting, long layered cuts, contemporary/edgy cuts, and classic cuts.

Couldn't recommend her more. I absolutely love getting the Goddess treatment from Cynthia! After showing up with my mop, Cynthia used her artistry to take her time giving me a very professional, stylized cut. Loved the scalp massage with tea tree oil! Also noted: the salon cozy and comfy and clean, and parking is very accessible. Despite what I consider very tricky hair, I absolutely love my cut, and receive compliments from strangers all the time.

I am so sad to be the downer in this group of great reviews but I must express how unhappy I am.
I was in desperate need to fix my hair after a series of lightening the ends. Cindy consulted with me text prior to setting an appointment to determine. I just wanted to chop off the dead ends and bring my hair back to my natural hair color. I wanted to keep as much length as possible with soft layers in a U shape.
Cindy is a very nice lady and kept me entertained while she worked on my hair. I have a hard head and can handle practically any pressure but I felt she was pretty rough on my hair

Amazing!!! Hair goddess! Trained professional would be an understatement. Combine creativity & master skills, and you have Cynthia! My hair looks amazing every time she cuts &/or colors it. I always get exactly what I want, and would trust her with full creative control, which says a lot, because I am an ex-stylist & super picky!!!!
She is so talented, and Select Salon has a great atmosphere and decor! From the fountains and plants to the fabrics and privacy of the rooms, it's great fun! Go get your hair-did!!!!

WOW! Cynthia is AMAZING!!
I was in dire need of a change but was really nervous about letting somebody touch my hair. I am SOO glad that I found Cynthia because she really knows what she is doing. I have black hair and wanted to lighten it to an ashy, cool color. This is NOT easy to achieve - I've seen many of my friends come out with ORANGE HAIR! But Cynthia definitely stuck with it and I LOVE the color she was able to achieve. She made sure I was completely happy and I've received so many compliments! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!

I agree with everyone else that Cynthia is a rock star! It has taken me far too long to find a stylist and artist like her! If you're looking for a new stylist, master colorist or positive person to be around - look no further! Cynthia is always on time, efficient and a true gem! It's taken me 3 years to find someone in Dallas who I trust to do my hair a second time! Cynthia is by far the best I have found in the area and she is the only one I will trust from now on!
She's super easy to book with-and will do so by Text, email or call so whichever you prefer she accommodates.

When I met her I was instantly drawn to her quirky personality. She has an uncanny ability to make you feel at home in her chair. I cannot say enough good things about Cynthia V@ Select Salon. She is the best and she brings a passion to the table when it comes to Hair. She definitely knows all about the cut and the perfect color to compliment it. She is all about edgy! When you visit her at Select Salon the space is a plus to compliment her fun funky personality! Dear Fellow Yelpers: Thank you for introducing me to my new hairdresser, Cynthia! I chose her based on your recommendations. I didn't even speak with her before arriving...sent an email and txt msg to arrange anything. She has an infectious personality and is easy to be around. My sister is a salon owner in Kansas City and has always been my stylist. Since I moved to Dallas 11 years ago, I have had to travel to get my hair done. I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to find someone locally, but have always come out with a horrible hair cut.

Cynthia gave me an amazing new look, and I absolutely love my hair. I LOVE IT. She chopped off a good 8 inches, gave me bangs, gave me texture, gave me a really sexy non-soccer mom look.
I came in with a couple of pictures and she tailored the cut to fit my face shape. She has a lot of experience under her belt and it shows. And the best part about it? She didn't flinch once when I told her

Cynthia is a truly great stylist. She really is cutting -edge is her field. I have followed her from Zen/Zip Clips to Warren Wilkes and now to Select Salon. Select Salon is a funky little place reminiscent of Austin meets Amsterdam.
Her prices are affordable and scheduling is never a problem. She's also a groovy chic so GO SEE HER! You won't be disappointed.

I always like giving stylist the opportunity to show me what they are about and how they can look at me and decide what would look good.
Cynthia, Styles by Cyn, did just that and was absolutely great!
She chose great colors and direction of colors that I had never even thought of and it fits my complexion and personality perfectly.
She did a great job with my cut too, making sure that the full art was a complete success!
She is very down to earth and friendly, which is a big plus when someone is working so closely with your "look".
