Services
We are pleased to introduce you to your pet's healthcare team. Many of us have cared for animals at Westfield for decades and we are proud of the culture we have built that provides for a superior work environment as well as a high quality care facility. To best serve our clients during the month of August, we have temporarily modified the hours at our Union location only.
Deep Roots Dr. Richard Maus was destined to be a veterinary practice owner. His ambition and talent were evident early on, with his peers in veterinary school voting him mostly likely to own a practice.
He fulfilled that prediction in 1985 when he purchased a northern New Jersey practice that had been operating since the 1940s-a strong foundation on which Westfield Veterinary Group, the region's leader in full-service general veterinary care-and the first primary care practice to bring 24-hour emergency services to the area-has been built.Beginnings For years, Westfield's home was a repurposed farmhouse.

Just as in human medicine, it's important for your pet to have a primary care doctor, too. A trusted professional who shares your vision for a long and healthy life. Someone you can turn to whenever you have a concern about your pet's health. Someone whose knowledge of your pet's medical history helps speed diagnosis and treatment.
At Westfield Veterinary Group, we aim to give you as many good years as possible with your pet through consistent wellness care. When you bring your pet in for regular veterinary visits, we're able to assess their ever-changing health, monitor any developing conditions, and make adjustments to their preventive care as needed.
At Westfield Veterinary Group, we take your pet's oral health seriously. That's because dental disease is the most common medical problem among adult dogs and cats. Bad breath, discolored teeth, red and swollen gums, and changes in eating habits can be signs of dental disease. Our dog and cat teeth cleaning service in Union and Westfield, NJ aim to prevent this debilitating disease from taking hold.

I had an emergency with my cat and could not have asked for better to staff to handle the stressful situation. A special thanks to Jodi & Victor- whom I may add- called to follow up a few days later to see how our cat was doing. I would highly recommend this place!!

I'm not sure who they're paying to post positive reviews, but I will never refer them to anyone anymore or take my animals here again. Here's my review and I've got a long one:
I had an appointment for a stray kitten I had been feeding and wanted him to get de-flead/wormed so I could get him out of the cold and foster him. I called them while I was looking for him and explained that he is a stray and I couldn't find him at the moment. They said if I was 15 min late, they'd cancel my appointment. Not very understanding for a vet clinic but okay. I finally located him and raced 25 minutes to Union

I'm really happy with this vet office. Based on my experience they are fairly priced compared to other vets. Obviously something like Vetco is cheaper for vaccinations and things like that. I have an anxious dog and they take great care to bring him inside with as little distractions and triggers as possible. The location is amazing and they have tons of parking.

Called about a diabetic seizure and what to do prior to bringing in our pet. We wanted to try to stabilize him. The person who answered the phone was confused. We were then put on a long hold, then went to a ring tone and they never picked-up. Being that this is emergency medicine and the unprofessional person who answered the phone I would rather give this establishment zero stars if I could.
We went to another emergency vet clinic and was given much needed information to help stabilize our pet for the ride being that he was having seizures.
I would not recommend this facility.

Took my blue nose pitbull to them and they treated her so good. She had an infection and had to get an emergency hysterectomy. The next day my Egypt was feeling better and they followed up the next morning on her. This is my go to spot for emergency care. Very professional.

I confirmed an appointment for my dog on Friday 8/6/21 at 1:30pm, yet I get a call from a technician today (Thursday 8/5/21) at 1:30pm asking me if I’m in the parking lot with my dog. I explained to the technician multiple times that my appointment was confirmed for Friday the following day, NOT today which is Thursday. Simply put, they were unwilling to resolve their mix up. I even offered to head there now which would take me about 5 minutes to do (mind you at this point it is 1:35pm so assuming I was to head there I would arrive at 1:40pm) yet the “best they could offer” is for me to admit

I took my dog there concerned because she had been throwing up. My dog was there for 4 hours before they called me to tell me that she looked fine physically but they suggest X-rays and bloodwork which would be another $600. I told them to do the X-rays cause I was very concerned for my dog. She said her stomach looked fine but something looked slightly abnormal so I should take her to a hospital to spend $600 on an ultrasound. At this point everything felt fake because they don’t let you inside to see anything. I told her to give me my dog back and she proceeded to try to guilt me into getting

They only want your money. Felt like I was dealing with scummy mechanics. Came in for a quick shot for my dog and they added extra services without asking me first and charged me a lot. Held my dog hostage so I could pay. Sounds like a common theme here. Go to the smaller more caring local Vets, like the one in Kenilworth.

I rushed my max(brussel griffon 5 yr old) in because he ate half a grape. Dr.clare Deming and Carly were amazing. Mind you it was 130a.m. They had my dog back to me feeling fine 1 hour later. They were compassionate and understanding. Especially with covid in place you can not enter the building so they must take the dog from you at the door. The moment I handed Carly the dog 10 min later Dr.Deming told me step for step what will happen. Her voice on the phone was ♡♡and I knew Max will be okay. Thank you for being a great staff. This morning he is doing awesome
