I have had three amazing haircuts in my life and one of them was done by Cathy at Salon IAOMO! I went in wanting a change and she delivered! Not only did she do an amazing job, but she was so nice and friendly! The prices are very reasonable, the location is right in my neighborhood and they have online booking so it’s super easy to find a time that works for you. I have been bumbling around salons for a while since moving to this area but I think I’ve found where my hair care belongs!

I have searching for a salon/ hair stylist that would be upfront with me about my hair expectations about 3 years ago I made the mistake of going to a stylist that I didn’t know and ended up having my long (very long) curly hair fried off because she was inexperienced and thought she could give me the hair in the picture I showed her in one session I’ve been doing everything to repair my hair since I came across some very talented stylists but the drive was to far and I knew I would be spending a lot of time wherever I went, found another stylist recommended by family because she does extensions

The staff was great! My stylist was very pleasant and personable. My overall experience was good, but the cut was not. I have thick curly hair and thinning shears were used in my hair. Well, the left side but not the right. My left side is like two different complete layers. On the right side. It’s all one length. Just a horrible cut. I can’t wear it straight because it’s so bad. The part that was thinned using thinning shears is so frayed and broken. When i left the style was so bad i went home and washed it again. I was so nervous to find a new hairstylist when I moved to Pittsburgh, but I'm so glad I found Maureen at Salon Iaomo. I really like that she has a separate room rather than being in an open room with other people. As someone who's self conscious about their hair and how its texture has changed and how heat has damaged it over the years, I'm so appreciative of Maureen's no-judgement attitude. She always makes sure I love my hair before I leave and I always feel great afterwards.

Ample parking, a variety of services, and prices are a steal: Salon Iaomo has it all. For years I've had committment issues with hair stylists and cuts in general, but I absolutely love the work that Cathy does! With so many different offerings there's something for everyone here, even down to private rooms for hijabi friendly/religiously modest cuts if arranged ahead! Even though I usually tend to be picky when it comes to who gets to cut my hair, all the girls at this salon are awesome! They can always count on my haircut being long overdue when they see me because i have a bad habit of putting it off, as you can see in the before pictures. With that being said when I do make it into the salon they do an amazing job at fixing me up. Every time, I walk out feeling so much better and more confident than I did when I came in. Highly recommend checking them out!!

I had the worst experience ever at this salon with a stylist named Kathy. I went in with medium brown hair and caramel highlights. I simply wanted my roots done with the to match the medium brown. I left with bright red hair on the top of my head where she applied the color for my roots.
The owner's tried to fix the mistake, but to no avail stating that "red" is very difficult to undo. I spent over 2 hours there and finally stormed out.
I do not freak out about my hair, but this was a total freak out as I could not be out in public the way it was.

This salon is a legitimate award winner in Carnegie. While their prices have gone up recently, their stylists are extremely well trained, they are generally very good with staying on time (a common problem for other salons I've been to) and I've never had a bad haircut there!
They also have free beverages and candy, which is always a plus in my book. If you're not a client, you can sometimes find Groupons for Salon Iaomo.
They also offer waxing and have a plastic surgeon come in once or twice a week if you're interested in fillers.

I don't have enough words to describe how wonderful the staff is here. After a horrible experience with another salon getting extensions I called them and they got me an appointment the next day. Needless to say, after the consultation they put me at ease and said they would fix my hair. After over three hours I walked out with my head held high after walking in in tears.
Maureen, Roberta and Jess worked together effortlessly to give me my self esteem back.

I have always had very bad OCD about my eyebrows. To the point I would pluck them until I have one thin little line of hairs. I was always insecure about how busy they were. But I have been getting my eyebrows done for over a year now by Lisa at Salon Iaomo and it was one of the best decisions of my life! I was referred to her by friends and the transformation is unbelievable! Lisa knows exactly where to pluck, wax, and trim. And if youre anything like I used to be, she can assist you in growing them back too! Always cleans you up nice, and adds aloe to soothe and keep redness down. 10/10 I would

I went in with a groupon cut/partial highlight. Well I needed lowlights and (Katherine) said that was ok but needed to pay more money for a full lowlight treatment. No problem, I agreed and paid additional $$. When it was done, the color didn't look different. I mentioned it to her and she said that's because she used 'transparent' color. What? I couldn't really tell in their lighting so When I got home, I noticed she didn't use a darker color, but pretty sure she used toner instead just to take red tones out. Tried it because it's on groupon & is a deva salon for curly hair. I asked for the split ends to be cut off, about 1" - 2" & she cut off 5"- 6"! They don't explain before purchase that there is a huge difference in price for a cut & a "deva cut". Stylist kept saying "if you were getting a deva cut I'd do this or that." I guess this explains her unpleasantness, not enough money coming in to be nice. If you like being talked down to, having 5-6 inches more than expected cut, & being treated like your curly hair is a rats

After having a horrible experience at another salon, Julie came to my rescue. I had gotten extensions a few months back, and the girl who installed them did a terrible job. They were falling out, and even after going back to the salon to have them fixed, I continued to have issues with them. After going back twice to have them fixed, the extensions were still coming out. I had so many come out in one area that it caused a large gap in my hair that could only be hidden by pulling my hair back. I have been with Salon Iaomo for more than 4 years since I moved to Pittsburgh. I usually go for cut and color so I have not yet tried other services with them. My hair dresser is Jess. I really like her styles and I am always satisfied with my hair.
What I like the most here is that Jess is always careful with my hair, picking the right style for my face, skin color and makeup. One time I decided to go for a short hair cut and I have to say that she was very creative and I was extremely impressed!

My experience here has not been good! I did a consult with Maureen then ordered and paid over $500 for hair extensions, grant you my hair is shorter. I showed up too my appointment and Maureen added these too my hair, they were 14 inches long. She had to of course cut them to a shorter length. Well she ended up cutting them way to short, especially on the sides of my hair, I looked like I have a mullet. I called an complained about cutting it too short and it was shorter than when I walked in. I wanted some type of refund due to all the money I paid. I had to go elsewhere and get someone to cut

Salon Iaomo is a wonderful little salon in Applebee's/Mad Mex plaza in Greentree Rd. I have been going to SI for a few years now and I always leave satisfied. Although they offer many services, tanning, extensions, they even have a wig room, I go for the basics, cut and color. Brian is the best but all of the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgable about their craft. From my experience, the pricing is about average for this type of salon. Color and cut will run you 90$. This price has also stayed the same for several years. No recent price increases. If you are looking for a great salon
