Services
Lexington Animal Hospital has served the Rockbridge community for over 60 years. Situated just 5 minutes west of Lexington on US Route 60, LAH treats primarily dogs and cats. In addition to new ownership, we are in the midst of a modernization that will allow us to continue providing your companion pet top-quality and cutting edge medical care for years to come.
During annual wellness exams, we will discuss your pet's diet, weight, activity level, bathroom habits, and any medications and supplements that your pet receives. We value preventative care and annual visits to help limit the onset of illness, as well as for helping detect health concerns early on.
Our staff is committed to the care and well-being of the pets staying with us. We have a deep love of animals and take care of all our boarders as if they were our own, giving lots of attention and TLC to help reduce the stress of being away from home. We can provide food or you can bring your own diet if preferred.
The proper diet is as important for pets as it is for people, and since your pets can't tell you what they are hungry for, it is even more important to get all of the information about their diet. Ask our doctors about the best diet for your pet. Fleas are wingless insects that survive by biting and feeding on the blood of cats and dogs.
Thank you for choosing Lexington Animal Hospital to partner in the care for your pet. We are dedicated to helping your pet achieve the highest quality of life. Our team provides exceptional care while showing respect for you and your beloved companion. Becoming a client is easy. You may choose to fill out our New Client Registration.

The worst kennel experience my dog has ever had.
He was there for 8 hours. After picking him up, he immediately peed 12 times and then drank 10 ounces of water.
LAH does believe in marketing. They sent me a text as I was leaving the hospital & an email three days later. When I sent an email asking why my dog didn't receive the test & vaccine he was supposed to, the vet called, attempting to convince me that my dog received adequate care.
I believe LAH's ratings are high because they will care for your dog if you are local. But people who love dogs don't differentiate between local and out-of

Saved us when we were on the road with a very anxious cat! Got us in quick, gave my poor boy some fluids, and were able to pill him with the anti-anxiety meds I couldn't get into him by myself. True lifesavers! Very nice staff.

Just an amazing clinic, the Doctor and staff are definitely on top and well a head of the game. Who take time to explain exactly what needs to be done, and all of your options. Staying up to date on all the new and improved treatments all the while keeping it a safe experience for the owners. Great job I'd give 10 🌟 if I could find that option.

Every one we met was so caring. It was our first visit, picked them based on the great reviews. Our pup is rather anxious, but she took to this vet and her staff right away. First vet visit where she wasn't shaking and went in willingly. Wish we could find a people practice that was this efficient, kind, and caring.

I came in with a ton of questions about dental work for my kitties, Meghan recommend dental cleaning for one cat, she took time to explain the blood test results (which is needed prior to teeth cleaning) and the cleaning process. I never felt rushed during my visit. I trust her professional judgment and would recommend Lexington Animal Hospital.
Thank you Dr Meghan Ryan and her lovely staff for taking care of my fur babies!
