I would rate this facility with a 0 if I could. Nice receptionists excluding Brenda. She rudely wouldn't answer simple questions. Many incompetent cna's with rough handling of my father who has a broken back. The exception was Ashley who was caring and gentle. Excellent and caring physical, occupational, and speech therapists. No monitoring of food or fluid intake resulting in my dad not eating for a couple days. My father sat in messed pants for hours even though he used his call button often. Staff could be found sitting at the desk on phones. Call buttons seemed to be ignored for many patients

My mom is there right now and I could not be more disappointed with the care she is getting. I talked to one of the head people at this facility about how unhappy we are with the lack of care she is getting and he promised me that they would be checking on her every 15 minutes. He lied. Not only did he lie but one of the nurses told her to quit pushing the call button and get up and do it herself. I'm going to bring her home. Do not take your family to this facility. It is awful and they do not care about their patients.

I have been very impressed with the level of care and service. The staff has been very attentive to the needs of my parents. They keep me informed of changes in health, COVID-19 protocol changes, and how to address changes in services. Cena, Marcie, Winnie, Brenda, and Sonia have been excellent! Thank you to all of the staff who have worked tirelessly through an extremely difficult time with COVID-19 along with the passing of my father.

I came to Shawnee PARC after I broke my ankle and needed physical therapy. I was there for 39 days. I had to remind myself that we were living in a COVID world and the way things were done during my stay were different than normal. Masks, quarantine, etc.
If you’re looking a “resort” facility I would look further.
But, I got what I needed which was excellent physical therapy. All of my needs were met everyday.
If this is what you’re looking for, I would recommend Shawnee PARC.

My mother was released today and had spent close to two months there for a broken leg. The nursing staff was amazing for the most part and therapy was also amazing. I do have a problem however with the fact that no administrator or DON bother to come out of their offices to initiate a rapport with the family members or the individual staying there for quite a while. I've never seen this happen before and I have worked in facilities such as this. It was as if they just stayed in their offices, not to be seen or heard. I find that unacceptable. It's also unacceptable to have the family member take

The first couple times my mom was there was good only because of therapy. They don't make the residences follow a diet even if ordered from a physician. There is not good contact with the family at all!! I was only informed of my moms suicidal threat AFTER she was released, and needed to go back for therapy, and they denied her due to the fact that "We don't get paid when she's on a one on one basis with a nurse" ok then why didn't they call and let me know?? I made it clear i was dealing with my own medical issues and couldn't get up there, but Still they didn't call and let me know!! My mom is

My mom was here for a few days and was very happy with the disposition and attitudes of the staff here. She reports that caregivers were very kind and professional in their interactions with her. The downside was that during the night there was not adequate staffing to promptly meet the needs of all the residents. Due to this less than optimal caregiver to patient ratio she sometimes had to wait too long for assistance to the bathroom. This is the sole reason I'm not giving more stars in this review.
My mother had to be transferred to another facility for reasons unrelated to Shawnee PARC, and

This place was a nightmare for my family. My stepdad had a toe amputated, and the surgery led to hospital dementia. Shawnee Mission sent him here a month later. Despite charging exorbitant prices, they were completely ill-equipped to handle patients with dementia. They insisted my mother hire a 24/7 “babysitter” at $20.00 an hour. Once she did that, they basically washed their hands of him, very rarely checked on him or changed his bandages. Total lack of care or concern. The only time I saw any passion was when he fell, they wanted to make us acknowledge that our $20.00 an hour babysitter

Lots of hype to how amazing facility is to get your business but once you are there you see how it really is. I was told by a nurse that she was glad my mom had on a adult diaper because sometimes they may not make it in for at least 5 minutes, more like 10 to 20 minutes is more likely. Therapy is really good and they are very hard at getting her stronger but not enough staff to give the care they promise to give our family members.
