Services
A Step Up is equipped with Avimark technology, giving you instant access to your pet's records, visitation history, immunization schedule and more from your home computer or smartphone. This service is provided to all clients free of charge. Remember, if you haven't visited A Step Up before, you'll need to call 412-212-0030 to make your first appointment.
Our wellness plans allow you to avoid the fear of big lump sum veterinary visits by maintaining them over a predetermined monthly amount. Each plan offers various amounts of office time, checkups, annual vaccinations, and provides discounts on services and medications from the clinic. Monthly service charges will be automatically debited on a pre-determined date each month as long as the wellness plan is active.
We are pleased to announce a new mobile app that will make it even easier to manage the health of your pet. This app, called Pet2Vet, is now available in the App Store for iOS devices and in the Google Play store for Android devices. Or, from either the App Store or Google Play store, simply search "Pet2Vet" and you should find it.
Our clinic is stocked with nearly all Purina Pro Plan and Purina Veterinary Diets dog foods, snacks, and treats. Our prices on these products are typically lower than area pet stores and national big box chain pet stores. Not only that, but we work with Purina to get the best incentives for our clients.
A Step Up Veterinary Clinic is proud to partner with Purina to offer the convenience of having high-quality foods delivered straight to your door. With Pro Plan Vet Direct, all A Step Up clients can now place orders online for any Purina Pro Plan or Purina Veterinary Diets food and have them shipped home.

Doc Randolph Stepusin is excellent. He goes above and beyond to help pets and their owners especially when you have a very sick pet. We have a 13 year old Yorkie that has an enlarged heart. Doc loves each and every pet, paying very close attention to symptoms, med changes, lab results all along monitoring progress and changes. Cannot say enough about his care of our dog. He carefully explains the illness, and how we go about treating it. He explains medications and how they work to help treatment. He is simply a cut above. Lastly, his staff is responsive and reflects a similar attitude as Doc.

This is the absolute best veterinarian practice I've ever had the pleasure to visit. I've been taking my pets here for years. Dr. Stepusin and Dr. Kitchen are excellent and have impeccable bedside manner and take their time to explain everything and answer questions. Once my cat was so stressed out, Dr. Kitchen sat on the floor with me and examined my cat from a blanket where she was most comfortable. Another time, Dr. Stepusin stayed two hours past closing to try to find out what was going on with my cat who was ill. Their passion for animals is so clear and are always a pleasure to work with

A Step Up Veterinarian Clinic has been wonderful to my two dogs and cat. The vet is always kind and thorough. They never try to push unnecessary services. They treat my animals like their own. The only aspect that is worrisome is that they will not allow me to enter the clinic with my puppy. I have to wait in my car while other clinics are allowing pet owners in their doors. My puppy is the newest member of our family and I would like to observe her care first hand. I am vaccinated and am not a health risk yet they will still not allow it.

I hear the veterinarians are great but they still are not letting the owners in with their animals. Why not? Make people wait in their car until it is their turn. Have people wear masks. The word is many businesses are liking the customers NOT coming in so the business owners deal less with the customer. Shame on you StepUp Vet! I would never bring my puppy to your business! He has severe anxiety and I would never hand him off to you. I will look for a veterinarian that is concerned about the virus BUT doesn’t use it as a way of keeping customers out of their business!

Everyone at A Step Up Vet has been absolutely and 100% amazing. I have three dogs and three cats who are under their care and would not trust anyone else. Even with Covid they have gone above and beyond to care for all of my 4 legged family members. It is evident that they are completely invested in the well-being of your animals and care about you as their owner as well.
During Covid we had to make the difficult decision to send our beloved 14 year old dog over the rainbow bridge (due to cancer) and I appreciate all of the care A Step Up gave her prior to the decision and the day of. They had

I have two German Shepherd puppies, a male and a female. We had an appointment for both of them to get their boosters and rabies vaccine. I also asked the technician to look at and clean my female's ears if need be. (Now mind you, whether a tech or vet should have been able to tell us whether or not to have them cleaned and should have been able to see there was an infection in her ear). When she came back out her ears that were pointed and standing perfectly were floppy and she had a big accident in the vet and outside in the parking lot. My male went in after her and he came out fine.
