Founded in 1982 by Eleanor Winhold, our Montessori approach focuses on child-led learning. Students are encouraged to be the directors of their own study, identifying and pursuing projects that interest them, with the teacher serving as a guide to their learning. Much of the Montessori experience is hands-on.
In Winhold Academy children are encouraged to go at their own pace, work collaboratively and individually, and spend time working on projects they enjoy. Montessori education offers our children opportunities to develop their potential as they step out into the world as engaged, competent, responsible, and respectful citizens with an understanding and appreciation that learning is for life.

This school is the best!!! They have amazing teachers that love, guide , direct, they do so much. It's not like traditional public schools, their curriculum and philosophy is different and I love it . My kids did not memorize things or spelling words. My kids flourished at this school. My heart broke when we had to leave, it only goes up to kindergarten. The teachers at this school have made a difference in my kiddos lives .

We had an amazing experience with this school. Our son Ryker attended from age 2 to age 4. He was always greeted in the morning by name by Ms. Jeanette. He particularly excelled when he was in the loving care of Ms. Guraj. He would bring home thoughtfully created crafts and decorations on special occasions. We had to change schools because we moved away and the lovingness of this school became even more evident in comparison to his new school. We miss you all!

I enrolled my two year old in Winhold Montessori in Palmetto Bay and I am at a loss for words on how caring the group of teachers are! I have seen such a change in her language skills since enrollment. They believe in transitional periods with an end result of the child feeling comfortable.
My husband and I are so happy to have found such a great school which will offer our child a great foundation!!

We enrolled our two-year old daughter a year ago in the toddler program at Winhold Montessori. Since that time, we have seen a positive change in our child both academically and emotionally. Mrs. Sandino and the entire school staff are caring, supportive and knowledgable in the montessori method. Mrs. Sandino is always maintaining us informed and eager to assist our child, especially during transitional periods. Our daughter surprises us everyday with new information that she has learned in class and as parents this lets us know that we have made the right decision when it comes to her education

I’ve heard positive feedback from this school from other moms and loved how they spoke about the director and teachers how Montessori helped their children be more independent so I wanted a tour for my 2 boys ages 2 and 4 year old. I was looking forward to touring the school when I called one afternoon the staff member couldn’t help me in English I was so frustrated needless to say I’m looking elsewhere I need to able to communicate at a school.
