G Bar & Kitchen
We use only the freshest and most local ingredients possible. We change our menu 8 times a year to ensure that the product we source is the best and "in season". Chef Gregg says I buy often and just enough so that I never sit on a product for more than a couple days. This ensures that the food is always at it's height.

All of our meats come fresh to us from Bianco and Sons in Revere who make multiple trips to the meat market in Boston daily. All of our fish is sourced from Northcoast seafoods a short walk from the docks in South Boston, and our produce from the market in Chelsea. I have a minimalistic approach to my cuisine, which means that every flavor in every dish is not overpowered.

Several of my girlfriends met here on Saturday at 3:30 and everything went perfect. Nobody had ever been there before so it was new to all of us. We did make reservations since there were going to be 7 of us. As each of us strolled in, we ended up starting the night off at the bar. I noticed that there were 2 high tables that were vacant so we asked if we could put 2 high tables together and sit there vs them putting us in the back area where they were going to put us and we did not want to sit there. They accommodated us and from there we had a great female waitress, I really wish I knew

Had a reservation for Saturday 10/23/2021. Got a call on 10/22 at 9:00pm that "the table does not exist". Ok, so no birthday dinner tomorrow. Unprofessional.

Only been there for bar experience and the staff and cocktails were excellent. Everyone eating seemed to really enjoy their meals.

First time at this little gem of a restaurant and it did not disappoint. From the service,to the cocktails,to the food it was on point. Burrata appetizer with peaches and basil, probably the best smoked fish pate ever to start. Our party had the pappardelle with sausage, coffee crusted tuna, sirloin steak, and swordfish.. perfect! Don't leave without trying the creme brûlée and affogato desserts. Just an all around great evening. Kudos to our server and runners who did a great job!!

Fun place. Very casual. Food excellent but salad and shrimp skewers way too salty
Bar and kitchen good but the restaurant part of the two areas really shines. Their eggplant is outstanding

Had a birthday meal with my family at G Bar having not been there for a while . Whilst the food was the usual high standard, I can't say the same for the staff . The front of house staff were miserable, looked fed up , no smiles, no welcome or friendly chat - terrible. Our server retorted the specials with her body facing away, looking over the road while she did it , Really ? For a $200 meal I expect more - I get it next door at Cafe Avelina , in Mission, in Starbucks ! Service level is EQUALLY as important as the food quality perhaps even more . Greg needs to address this quickly - won

We really enjoyed the food for our anniversary dinner. Drinks were great and loved the octopus as an appetizer (best I've had!). The pappardelle was satisfying and my husband enjoyed the lampchops. The service was just ok. We were the only ones in initially and the environment was less than welcoming; felt more like we were interrupting and everyone seemed cold. We went out to celebrate and it was not an environment great for celebrating. With that said, we would recommend for the food only.

Went to G Bar with a group of 4 and were sat immediately at 5:30 PM. Group had a few drinks with a couple appetizers & entrees. Spicy Cauliflower was very good & Crispy Shrimp were perfect! Got Lamb chops for the entree and would get it several more times!

This place has a small menu, but there's a reason for that, they make sure that everything on it is done exquisitely and tastes amazing. Whenever I recommend a restaurant this is always on my list, as they truly do have some of the best tasting food I've had to date.
10/10 would always recommend G Bar!

G Bar and Kitchen is that gourmet restaurant you expect to be in downtown Boston. Fortunately for us, it's right near our home. The staff are thoughtful and welcoming. The food is outstanding and changes seasonally (there are some signature dishes that are always on the menu).

For appetizers, we always order the Brussels sprouts and Octopus. The Papparadelle pasta is oh so satisfying and loved by my whole family. For entrees, we always change it up but have never disliked a dish!

We had take out from G Bar & Kitchen and really enjoyed our meal! We had the steak, the seared tuna, the octopus appetizer and caesar salad. The steak was cooked to perfection and the octopus appetizer was very unique (had hummus!) but tasty. The staff was a little standoffish but that could have just been because they were busy. Would definitely return for the food since we didn't have any leftovers!

Great food every time, whether at the restaurant or take out. We particularly live the fresh fish specials and, of course, the Pasta Bolognese! Great staff from cooks to bartenders to waitstaff. Seriously, hard to beat this place. We are lucky to have G on the north shore.

Very over priced. I had the swordfish and wife had the haddock. Both were good but portions were very small at $32/plate. More like an appetizer.. left very underwhelmed. My swordfish piece was 2x2 1/2" and I'm being generous. There are better restaurants only a stones throw away that offer much better value . Service was good but doesn't make up for lack of food. Dinner bill came to $90 with one drink and a a ginger ale. Underwhelmed and disappointing

We had never been to Swampscott before and took a drive and found G Bar & Kitchen. We have now been 2 times and both times we have found the food to be outstanding and the bartender, Andrew, to be very helpful in recommending drinks and food - he makes a mean drink!

For appetizers, we've had the bacon cocoa brussels, the zucchini pancakes, the tuna tower, and the cauliflower - all fantastic. We've enjoyed the Fettucine mare, the ribeye, the duck and the red snapper special. The flavors are all outstanding.

We've sat at the bar both times and everyone at the bar is so friendly

This place never disappoints. We came from the west coast to revisit this place and have chef Greg's incredible creations.
If you are up this way you would be missing out if you didn't try G Bar.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here last Friday evening. We have never been to swampscott before and loved the drive along the water to get to G bar. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and immediately sat. Our waiter was both knowledgeable and attentive. For dinner I had the pappardelle with sausage - the pasta was homemade as was the sauce, it was so fresh and exactly the comfort meal I was looking for. My husband ordered the veal chop and loved it as well. This would have been a 5 star review but the desert did not live up to its hype.. I had the key lime pie s'more and it was

The best spot on the North Shore for gourmet food. Must have is the Gnocchi and everything else on the menus is on par with any 5 star restaurant in downtown Boston.
Gregg the chef and owner will impress and the staff will make sure to round out the best experience.

This place is great. G Bar & Kitchen is a small, warm, upscale restaurant North of Boston; in my opinion, worth the trek from the city or nearby suburbs. The menu is really diverse - great salads, tuna tartare, lamb, gnocchi, etc. They also have a great wine selection to compliment the dishes.

We did a little tasting menu, and finished off with an amazing dessert - a chocolate soufflé cake topped with ice cream, paired with an espresso.

Plenty of street parking! And great service. I'll be coming back for sure.
