A software engineer walks into a city planner's office and says "I want to start a brewpub in your fine city." The city planner, sporting a wide, wide grin, says "If I had a nickel for every software engineer that walked in here saying that, well, I'd have more than a couple of nickels." Some joke, huh?
The Gardner Ale House & Moon Hill Brewing Co. Oktoberfest "Party In the Street" is cancelled this year. Instead, you can "Take The Party Home". Our Oktoberfest Lager and German Food Specials will be available for dine-in and take-out beginning on Saturday, October. The Gardner Ale House & Moon Hill Brewing Co. is open for dine in and takeout lunch and dinner, office catering and beer store (cans and growlers to go).
Oktoberfest is celebrated throughout the world because it is devoted to beer, food, fun and families. There is no other theme. There are no saints nor civil wars nor revolutions, just mostly beer & food & fun. It's pretty simple. In Germany, they love it so much it lasts for about 4 weeks. Maybe we can do that here at the Ale House, too, someday.

Husband & I both ordered fish, though he was looking forward to Prime Rib. Apparently, that is only offered as a "special" & today wasn't the day. I got the baked Haddock; he got the fish & chips. I asked for light cracker crumbs on it; it was doused with them. Was easy enough to scrape them off, so that wasn't too big of a deal for me. However, my husband's dinner was almost inedible. There was more batter on the fish than fish itself. After eating 1/2 of one of the two fish "patties", he just gave up & tried to eat the innards. The French fries that came with it were burnt, hard/crisp. Also inedible

This place brews great beer. I especially like their porter. The pizza is amazing. I had the poutine for the 1st time there last weekend, and it was delicious. It had shredded beef in it. The service there is also great. Not sure if they're still doing it, but it was always nice when they had live music.

I was supposed to meet my family and relatives there the day after Thanksgiving. I use a wheelchair but I didn't go. I've been there before. It is mostly wheelchair accessible. The restaurant is ok for accessibility but if your in a wheelchair and need to use the bathroom, forget it. I've been there having dinner with friends and have had to leave because I needed to use the bathroom. The food is great as well as the service. It's just to bad that the bathrooms are not wheelchair friendly. I'm really going to have to think about weather I want to patronize a place that

Food was tasty, server was pleasant and prices fair. Issue for me is (and this is on Mass - i get it) the place doesnt feel remotely covid safe. Packed indoors no vaxx mandate no masks. When we asked for an outdoor table the hostess actually snickered on the phone. And what do you know the covid rates are much higher there than NYC.

Loved the brunch here!! All meals are $16 and come with a mimosa, bloody or beer (not sure what you do if you don't want alcohol). The mimosa was good and they put a little grenadine in it. I followed that up with a mimosa flight which was very fun and different. I loved my meal of avocado toast and smoked salmon. It was the perfect combination of flavors and very fresh. I added a fried egg on top and felt that really added some yumminess. My husband had the more traditional egg, toast, bacon etc and loved it. Service was great too!

First, the inside is beautiful with some exposed brick, string lights draped along the ceiling. Their nachos are absolutely amazing & they’re topped with big chunks of buffalo chicken. I spotted a Tito’s Strawberry Lemonade on the menu & had to order it! 10/10 would recommend. I ordered the Honey Chicken Sandwich, and the honey mustard on it was wicked good! If you’re in the area, definitely stop by.

Some of the best food I have ever had. Seriously. The beer was outstanding too, but I can't get over the food. I wanted to start writing this review mid-dinner.
Steak tips and baked haddock were absolutely amazing. The sweet potato that came with the baked haddock was like crack. I don't even like sweet potatoes. I almost ate the plate itself. Even the Caesar salad was one of the best if not the best I've ever had. My boyfriend and I are going back tomorrow before we head home. Apple cider donut sundae was also incredible. We also felt safe covid-wise. Safely socially distanced

Excellent food. I had the steak chili and the fish tacos, which were very good. There were so many things that I wanted to try, I over ordered a bit.
The staff was on their "a" game for sure. Although they appeared to be short handed, the waitress hustled like crazy and didnt miss a beat.
Great food and service. Will go back next time I'm in the area.

A very very pleasant meal. Delicious food and our server took great care of us. Ordered the veggie flatbread and swordfish special.
The homemade spaghetti was divine. It makes me wonder if I've ever eaten homemade spaghetti before this meal. Very well done dish. Our only issue was that both dishes were very very under seasoned. I've never had to salt and pepper a dish as heavily as I ever have as we had to for these dishes. I could only imagine the cook just completely forgot to use them because it was seriously lacking a vehicle to lift all of the ingredients and marry them together

Really great experience, ordered and called to confirm, food was ready on time with little to no contact with the staff because you are simply passed a bag. Clean and and cool atmosphere for post-covid possibilities. Thanks for an awesome meal. The flatbread dough is SO good and has a great texture. I do wish they applied a little bit less topping and cut it into 6's instead of 3's to make it easier to eat; it is very messy. So so good five stars and I will go again! Thanks!

First time visitors to the Ale House and found the entire experience to be phenomenal from start to finish. We were greeted by a very nice hostess who made sure our preferences were taken care of.
We decided to take advantage of a special for appetizers and each of our party got one. As such we tried the jalapeno rangoons, the fried pickles, and the mozzarella sticks. The seasoning on the mozzarella sticks was obviously homemade and light and airy. The duo I was with said the jalapeno rangoons were fresher in flavor than expected and had a nice slow burn.
