I just relocated from NY to Richmond so I've of course been in search of new everything. Christy's was my first hair experience in my new city and I can absolutely say THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! My hair looks and feels AMAZING and I will absolutely be returning for more future blowouts. Thanks Sonya!
I've only got two "bad" things to say, which aren't even that bad and definitely not deal breakers at all.
Cons (IMO): 1. As it is a holiday today, I did expect it to be crowded but with only two workers it made the wait even longer. Not sure what the staff is like but

I had a great experience. However, unbeknownst to them, I could understand some of what they were saying about me in Spanish. Thankfully, it was mainly negative about my extensions and not my natural hair. I doubt they would have said it in the same manner if they knew I could understand some of what they were saying. I'll go back though. I think it's kind of funny. What was said about me was nice, and I did have some crappy hair in. Rosa worked magic on the "horrible" extensions.

I NEVER just walk into a salon without a recommendation so I was very apprehensive about randomly trying this place out but I'm so glad I did. They gave me a nice relaxing shampoo and conditioner along with an amazing blowout. My hair felt like silk after the fact. They do talk in Spanish to each other but I'm fine with that. I didn't go there for a conversation but I did go to get my hair slayed and that is what they did! I don't live Richmond but if I ever end up here again for business, I would go back.

The older lady who I think is the owner who has an rude attitude. This salon will tell you one price and then try to get extra money later after your hair been washed and blown out. The customer service is horrible. My hair looks great but I will not be returning due to the customer service. Remember you're not the only salon in town people have options so that way customer service is everything!!!

This was the first time I've been to a shop in 2 years since I've been natural so it's safe to say I was a little hesitant. Rosa ended up doing a great job though! She co-washed instead of shampooing my hair like I requested and worked quickly without rushing on my hair. It took about 20-25 minutes to be seated instead of the 5 minutes they said they'd be with me but I was still out in under two hours. She trimmed my hair very nicely without getting scissor happy. My hair looks great. It's shiny, bouncy and super soft so what more could you ask for! They also used a reasonable

Although, the young lady who did my hair did a wonderful job, the customer service is horrible. I told the young lady upon me first getting my hair done I had a coupon via Yelp for a free conditioner upon check-in. Once I went to pay I told whom I assume was the owner about this again and she attempted to berate me. Mind you I was about to get my eyebrows done but her rudeness was enough for me, I'm not sure if she thought this was acceptable and then begin to tell a man who worked there that this was a coupon from 3 years ago and Yelp hasn't taken it down, not sure how that is the customers

Let me start off by saying the results I had was awesome really awesome however the process could have made me walk out the building. The pregnant young lady that I had to do my hair yanked and yanked and yanked at my hair almost giving me a headache. I am natural and I'm sure they do many a natural girls hair but why must a Yank at my head like I'm not there. But again I will say the results were awesome and I was happy to see my hair as straight as it was no heat damage.

This was my first time going to get a blow out since I've been natural so I was very nervous. I have really thick & curly hair and have been growing it relaxer free since 2010! The stylist was very professional and friendly. The salon was very clean and I was seen as soon as I walked in. My results were amazing! I never thought my hair could be this bouncy, shiny and straight without a relaxer! I'll definitely be back. Thanks again, Alba.

I was in town and in need of a quick style. I have long thick natural hair. This salon is fantastic! I arrived at 8:15 on a Saturday and they were already open. It has been a few years since going to a Dominican salon so I assumed they do mainly roller sets. Wrong! They use a comb chasing method to blow dry and they are very kind to the hair. I got curls at the end of my hair and a deep conditioning. Will be back to see Rosa during my next visit home!

Fast, good, and affordable. This place has every requirement needed for bomb status. I've been a customer for two years, and have never walked out disappointed. The stylists really care about the health of your hair. My personal fave is Rosa R. I don't want to share her, but she is truly a talented beautician. Always gentle and sweet. Consistency is the main reason I've been a customer for over a year and I have no problem blurting out "Go to Christys" when I'm asked (and I'm asked often) for reccomendations of a good hair salon. They always fit your schedule whether you have an appointment or not...the service is always great...and for the money its a win-win!

I was actually very pleased with my hair. I went based off of reviews the lady who did my hair did not speak much English but when she finished my hair was straight, roots were straight and I was pleased. I will go back if I need to get my hair done at a salon. Also, they take credit cards but prefer cash.

This salon runs a special on wednesday for a $15 wash and set.They are somewhat friendly but never rude.However on two occasions the stylists her told me my hair was thin and damaged which blew my mind.My hair is long strong and healthy compared to the ladies who criticized me.I kept asking people how my hair looks and they said,shiny and healthy!I only go to them from now on if Im on a budget or I'm on the way to my gym in the area.The finished product depends on the stylist..Ive had better.Ive also had shiny and bouncy.
