Resthaven was established in 1961 as the first multi-faith, non-sectarian cemetery serving Frederick and surrounding counties. At that time, Resthaven encompassed a little more than 25 acres. The cemetery only had a gravel road with less than two dozen burials. In the 1970's and 80's we were exclusive in addressing the specific needs of local veterans, as well as families seeking cremation*.
For more than 50 years, Resthaven Memorial Gardens has been dedicated to memorializing loved ones with honor, respect and dignity. Resthaven was established in 1961 as the first multi-faith, non-sectarian cemetery serving Frederick and Montgomery counties. At that time, Resthaven encompassed a little more than 25 acres.
At Resthaven, we have many pristine areas on our grounds set aside for traditional burial or cremation burial. Choose from a variety of tree-shaded, landscaped garden vistas or beautiful garden sites near unique statuary or memorial features. We also offer lawn crypts-affordable, pre-installed grass topped crypts-which has an integrated drainage system and allows for a 'double-depth' configuration.
Resthaven Memorial Gardens is the first of any cemetery or funeral home in the area to perform cremations on site, without requiring storage or transportation to facilities in surrounding counties. With more than 30 years of experience operating our crematory we offer the best possible care and the widest array of memorialization options.

This place is amazing, they're very understanding and made the most difficult process for my father's passing so seamless. I love visiting and it makes me happy how well kept they keep it all year around. I've referred other family members who also said they had a good experience. Feeling very disrespected. My husband, a Vietnam veteran, was laid to rest almost 2 years ag . I went a week ago to change out the winter arrangement and found that everything had been removed from the vase and off of the stone, including flags and small mementos. When I inquired about this, I was told that everything had been thrown away..flags and all. Still haven't even received an apology.
