Our Kid's Tae Kwon Do class is the perfect start for a student who is interested in pursuing a more traditional path in Martial Arts. In the class beginners will go through drills, learn their basic kicks and punches, learn how to fall properly, and start to go over their kata. Our instructors are aimed at teaching them the curriculum, as well as their focus and discipline!
Our style of Tae Kwon Do, Youn Wha Ryu, draws influence from Korean, Japanese and Chinese martial arts, making it a well-rounded blend of hard and soft styles. Students build a strong foundation of kicking, punching and blocking. They learn traditional kata alongside practical self defense, and explore a variety of different weapons on their path to black belt.
Sei-Bo Ryu, was born out of a heartfelt desire to learn and master the Japanese sword. As students train toward their black belt, the focus is on the katana (long sword) - through drills, kata and armored combat. Advanced practitioners build upon that foundation with iajutsu, (simultaneous drawing and cutting), wakizashi (short sword) and nito waza (two sword technique), before exploring other weapons and martial arts passions.
The Cane Defense System is a traditional martial art style founded by Grandmaster Mark R. Shuey, Sr. that uses a walking cane for blocks, strikes, kata, and self-defense. The style has been internationally recognized and demonstrated, including articles in the Wall Street Journal, features on CNN, and the CBS Early Show.

Having had the opportunity to train with Master Kristin through Virtual Training, we can safely say that her knowledge was fantastic. Sadly due to covid-19 we have been unable to get out to train much in the UK so we got to do so virtually with Master Kristin and it was an absolute pleasure.
Thank you from all of us at KRMA in the UK. Your students are truly lucky to have you and the rest of the PMA team helping them grow :)

Stay far away from this place. Completely unprofessional and a waste of your money. There are far better places you can go just in Plano alone if you're looking for good martial arts Dojos.

The twd/hapkido class is superb. flat rate monthly tuition with no contract and you can go to as many classes as you want. constantly learning and integrating various disarmament techniques, holds, and escapes in addition to the curriculum, which is great because you get more options if you ever need to use the skills you learn. teachers are always open for questions and allow for uncapped learning potential. i've been attending for 5 months and very much enjoy it.

I came in for a Hapkido class and was sorely disappointed. It was essentially TKD with a smattering of superficial self defense thrown in, not Hapkido. Do not go here if you're looking for Hapkido.
Half the class was comprised of kid, even 7 year olds, which surprised me because I knew that Hapkido involved many dangerous moves like joint locks and pain compliance.
We were discouraged from touching each other and went through the motions of escapes without even a little bit of resistance from the other person to test the technique. I asked the teacher to explain the wrist escapes in further detail

This is the first martial arts studio I ever trained in, and it gave me a good foundation.
I have continued in various styles of martial arts for the five years following my move out of Plano.
I have continued to excel and I would recommend this dojo.

I've been a student here for about 14 years now and it's the best martial arts school I've ever attended. Master Craig is a knowledgeable teacher with many years of experience. He takes a hands on approach and teaches you directly instead of letting his senior students doing it all the time. He doesn't make you sign contracts, the prices are all reasonable ranging from $40 a month for okinawan kobudo to $80 for tae-kwon-do which is the mainstay of the school. Goshin Jujitsu and Combat Hapkido are also taught and master Craig is highly ranked in all of them. This school has a more laid back atmosphere
