Services
Here at Soft Palate Dentistry, we are proud to specialize in pediatric dentistry. We truly believe in starting children off right when it comes to their dental health. It is our goal to ensure that each visit goes well so that they think of the dentist's office as a good place. Our entire staff is wonderful with children, allowing them to relax while we care for their teeth.
At Soft Palate Dentistry in Norfolk, VA, your children's smiles are important to us! We keep kids happy and healthy by focusing on providing exceptional service to promote bigger, brighter smiles. Our goal is to provide a pleasant and positive experience for both you and your children while focusing on your specific needs.
It is also recommended that during an examination your children get X-rays, which allow us to check for tumors, cysts, and bone loss. They also allow us to look at the positions of your children's teeth and their roots. While performing an examination, we look at the gums to make sure they are not infected or diseased, but if they are, we will help your child.
During your child's visit, we will also talk about good home care. We believe what you do at home really affects your child's teeth. For this reason, we will acknowledge any areas on which you need to concentrate so your child can have a healthy smile. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, don't hesitate to contact us today at (757) 651-2082.
Here at Soft Palate Dentistry, we are proud to offer dental restorations to help protect and restore children's teeth so that they can speak and eat easily as well as have a wonderful smile. We can also fix missing teeth and have many options for how we do so. Typically, we like to place implants, which will act like the tooth's replacement root.

I am not satisfied with this dentist. I was advised by another dentist that I should take my son here because they can sedate him since he he is a special needs child. Although his dad was allowed do go in with him, he was crying so much that I was concerned and had to ask if he was ok. I don’t know why he was not sedated because they were not successful in cleaning his teeth so we wasted our time. He came out all wet and snotty. I had to ask if they didn’t have tissues in there.

All the staff here LOVE children.
They were very playful with my child when he kept running away. The dental assistant sang him the Alphabet song to keep him calm, and they were patient as he cried.
They even gave him a certificate for it being his first dental visit, which we really appreciate.
I wish they would extend their clinic soon as it is very small. But even though, we would still keep coming here because we love the staff.

I was very disappointed about the policies they have about being able to go with my child. Any child 3 or over is supposed to go without their parent during procedures. My son said he was scared and wanted me to there, Dr. Trina came in to question me about why I needed to be in the room. I will never go back to this small facility.

My biggest issue today was the “charge my credit card first” then inform me that my 3 year old daughter would more than likely need to go to the hospital I order to complete her crowning.
Please inform the “paying” customers of issues before requiring payments. Another $127 dollars down the drain.

Worst Pediatric Dentist office I have ever had my child receiving services from. They made him no priority despite his constant pain, cavities and etc. They stalled all of his OR procedures and gave last minute calls on paperwork needing to be submitted. Once submitting all paperwork THEY STILL DID NOT GET HIM IN THE OFFICE.

We have been with Dr. Collins for two years. She is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and works very well with children. Likewise, the staff is courteous and professional. As far as the dental clinic itself, the area where checkups occur is designed in a very welcoming atmosphere, which while I don’t fully understand emotional responses, I can imagine that it eases the child’s nerves.
TL;DR: Great dentist. You won’t go wrong bringing your child here.

This was the best choice I ever made. The staff is excellent with children and the Dentist is excellent as well. They really love servicing children. my daughter has very bad anxiety from prior services elsewhere and they knew how to calm her down and relax her and she was fine. This place is awesome. They even have Saturday hours. I would highly recommend this dentist and her staff.
