We encourage families interested in LREI to submit an application for grades Pre-K through 9th. While the application deadline for the 2021-2022 school year has passed, additional openings do occur. Crazy! The Little Red School House (LREI), located in Manhattan's West Village neighbourhood, in 2017 instituted a segregation policy that kept students of similar color together for so-called homeroom, a common area where students spend many hours of non-lesson time. Google it..The Little Red School House and racial segregation. If you still think its a good environment for your child, you should fit in just fine.

I went to the little red school house in the fifties and sixties. This is hands down the best school in the United States. I moved to San Francisco 44 years ago and I became a teacher. I have taught all grades from kindergarten to fifth grade. I am the two-time San Francisco teacher of the year and I have won more teaching awards than any teacher in the state.I attribute all of this to my education. I was taught to think outside of the box. I know how to problem solve because that is what is stressed at Little Red. Most schools are still trying to get to the level that Little Red was on 60 years
