We believe that a child's first experience in school should be a happy one. This is best accomplished when teachers and parents work together to support your child's educational experience. ERCDC schedules individual tours for families who have been referred by the New York City Department of Education Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) Administrator.
ERCDC has adopted the Creative Curriculum because it provides a guide to best practices in early childhood special education and is based upon over thirty years of research about how children learn. At ERCDC, the classroom environment is safe, welcoming, and child centered. Materials and activities are chosen to meet the developmental needs and interests of the children in the class.
I am so happy that my child is attending this school. I have a different daughter because of the amazing job of the Teachers and Therapists. East River has safe, clean and organized classrooms for kids to be themselves not to mention supportive leadership. I am very happy about my child's progress after attending this school.

East River Child Development goes above and beyond in the way they work with the children, parents and outside service providers! As a psychologist in the DOE, I found the staff and director to be extremely helpful in the "Turning Five" process. They have a knack for working with the students they service and their parents during this complicated and sometimes stressfull process. They were also extremely helpful and accommodating to my colleague and I during the process in helping to provide timely reports and a conferencing area for our meetings.
