Playgarden was founded in 2007 in Tribeca. The founders, Amanda, Valeska and Carlos were looking for a large indoor space to create clean, safe space for young children to learn and play in New York City.
Tribeca, with its old warehouses, provided a great opportunity to convert a 8,000 square foot space with 11 ft ceilings, skylights and oversized windows into a space where children could grow though unstructured play in the largest indoor playground in the city and through formal education and development in the classrooms.For 13 years Playgarden has focused on creating educational and developmental programs for the youngest children.

Playgarden Prep was founded in 2007 to create a nurturing first educational experience for NYC toddlers, inspired by the proven Montessori philosophy. Over the years, our curriculum has evolved and expanded to include aspects of other learning styles including: Montessori, Reggio-Emilia, emergent, traditional or core curriculum, and even some custom curriculum!
Playgarden Prep is one of the leading early childhood education centers in the US, with locations in New York City's Tribeca and Upper East Side neighborhoods. All of our programs are rooted in Montessori learning. Our certified teachers use Montessori materials and curriculum, which we compliment with tailored songs and language curriculum that we have developed over 13 years to teach our little ones.

Playgarden is a great space for younger kids (up to age 5 or 5-1/2). Its clean, fun and the staff are wonderful with kids. My daughter loved the ballet classes and the ballet recitals are a lot of fun. The playground is filled with interesting and fun equipment, which changes every two or three months. I highly recommend it.

Immaculate. Friendly staff. All equipment in great shape (no broken toys). Took a free trial class and it was VERY fun - my 14 month old LOVED it. We spent a lot of time in the playground and he would have stayed longer (we were there for almost 3 hours) but he was WAY too tired and fell asleep in his stroller 2 blocks away from the place.
