Joe Carta pays to have his bad reviews removed. Notice the dates of his bad reviews, he has a slew of them, and then miraculously they stopped. He use to have a Yelp review under Century 21, he had so many bad reviews, he had to change the name of his company. If you have any smarts, stay away, he is beyond bad.

I doubt anyone even got high school education at this realty. Not to mention the 2 star attorney they work with , that knows nothing about the law and will kiss anyone’s anything for some cash. You can look him up- Simone and Associates . Basically the attorney is even dumber than the reality , poorly written with tons of mistakes letters that don’t follow any laws.

Only had this management company since about March 20th of 2020 and it's June 2ed now but so far I'm not impressed.
I brought up a problem and nothing has been resolved. Our other roommate asked if they will ever take care of the front lawn and no one has reached out to him either. None of our complaints have been resolved and none of our requests for applications to be sent out have been sent. I'm highly disappointed at the negligence and lack of communication.

The reviews speak for themselves. Do yourself a favor and avoid Joe Carta. He was the selling agent, and we felt like an inconvenience the entire time. He was extremely slow (missed key deadlines in escrow), impossible to get a hold of, and never once seemed to actually want to make the sale. Against all odds, our buying agent saved the day.
I've never worked with Kevin, but it looks like he's the best thing this "company" has to offer.

I have been a tenant over 8 years at the 3844 Swift Ave location. I've seen a few different faces at the office over the years but to be honest I've always been treated with respect and our concerns with the property always been answered in a timely fashion.
Over the years Joe Carta Realty team always been on point with maintaining our unit whenever we had issues via same day, or the next, always worked within my schedule and never made it difficult. When we had issues with the repairs they always made it right.
Lastly the rent was fair and they didn't jack it up every year like most landlords

Believe the bad reviews!! I looked for an apartment for about a month and landed on Joe Carta's website; units looked good and their google overall rating was not that bad, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. WRONG! Me and my husband went to tour 3 properties on Swift and 32nd st. Be careful with these property clowns. Very simply, we applied for one of their rentals, have great credit, solid income, and paid $40 x 2 for the applications. "Oh, we'll be in touch!" said Joe Carta Realty.
I emailed them twice, called them thrice, and was ghosted. No reply, no call back, nada. My conclusion? An $80 money grab by good old Joey and his mighty minions.
At the very least, I figured I was owed a courtesy call | email saying, "Yeah, well - not you." So when you take money and ghost folks, you buy yourself $80 worth of bad review.

I worked with Joe Carta Realty to find an apartment rental this past November. Elisa was our agent and she was able to find us an amazing apartment in Normal Heights, San Diego that was in budget, prime location, and met all of my requirements + more. This was a personally tough time for me as well and Joe Carta Realty was not only very genuine, but also very accommodating to my change in needs. Fair warning to all...RUN, don't walk, AWAY from this property management company!! The absolute worst I have ever had the misfortune to endure. Disrespectful, rude, uptight snobs. I told them from the beginning that I would need a co-signer or guarantor. Maria (God be with you if you ever have to talk to her) never hinted that this would be an issue. Suddenly, after we already paid he application fees and applied, she decides to tell us that she's going to check our applications first without factoring in our co-signers and then see where we're at. My roommate and I applied for a property and were ready to sign the lease, but as mentioned in other reviews Maria has poor communication skills and the business has poor business practices in general.
We wanted to have basic questions answered, such as how maintenance would be handled, what all would be included in the rent price (water, sewer, etc.), before we applied for the property. We emailed, called, and left Maria voicemails and did not receive responses till days later. Once she did get in contact with us, she gave us incorrect information or did not answer our questions.

I applied for a property that they were representing and I really enjoyed the property & would've been a long term tenant, but Maria @ Joe Carta Reality knows not the meaning of proper communication. When someone applies for a property and pays the $40.00 application fee,that means that they are interested, also when someone leaves 2 voicemails & sends 2 emails that also means someone is trying to get ahold of you.

Kevin Atto at Joe Carta Realty is awesome! He is very professional and goes way out of his way to help find the perfect home for you. I highly recommend Kevin and his office if you are looking for a "new" home or want to sell your current home. Since my husband works so much our schedule is real tight so when we wanted to go look at a house to possibly buy but only had a small window of time to go see it, Kevin went out of his way to make it happen! I was a tenant for 3 years through a rental property that Joe Carta managed. I just moved out about a week ago. I've had nothing but great experiences. The online portal makes it easy to automate monthly payments and submit maintenance requests. Any maintenance issues were addressed very quickly. I remember submitting a video of a leaking sprinkler, and Joe Carta sent someone out the same day to fix it. They were similarly quick to send out a plumber, when needed, a handful of times.

Joe Carta Realty is a great company that takes excellent care of its clients. Please disregard the negative reviews that have been posted by past tenants in our property management division. Unfortunately, property management is a tough job, and although Joe Carta Realty follows all of the rules and takes great care of its home owners, tenants sometimes are unhappy. This is almost always the result of a tenant not following the rules, not paying rent, or not leaving a property in great condition after move-out. If you ever meet Joe Carta himself, you'll see he is one of the kindest, nicest folks

Kevin Atto is an amazing realtor. He helped my husband and I find a lovely condo near downtown San Diego with a gorgeous view all within our budget. As first time home buyers, the process of buying a home was very intimidating but Kevin was there to help us through every step of the way. It's been 3 years since we bought our place and he continues to stay in touch with us to see how we are doing. :)

Will be reporting this company to the BBB for their unethical practices and terrible customer service. I was "approved" to rent out one of their properties in April 2018. I paid my security deposit and first months rent, and the Friday that I was supposed to sign my contract and get my keys I received a call; they ended up calling me an hour before our appointment and said they would not be renting out to my partner and I for a 6+ year old eviction which my partner had no known knowledge of. I'm leaving this review because I genuinely care about the safety of anyone renting from Joe Carta Realty. Probably the most dangerous apartment experience I've ever had, which is why I felt inclined to leave my first bad review on yelp.

Literally - The worst Property Management company I've ever worked with. Rented 4342 Idaho St
First, when I moved in, it was completely dusty. No one had been living there for 3 months prior. Obviously even when someone has been in a place in awhile, it still gets dirty, but they don't seem to put that in consideration.

Rented a unit on 4146 32nd st. Apartment full of mold complained a while back and all they did was clean it they never fixed. Now the roof in my bedroom cracked and water poured into my bedroom, looked inside hole and the enrire roof was wet, cracking and full of mold.
When i talked to management they were very rude and were mad at me and started yelling at me when i was talking to them calmly. Very unprofessional.
