Peak Performance Shotokan Karate-Do is located in New Brighton, Minnesota and has been in operation since 1992. We currently offer high quality martial arts instruction in the northern Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. We offer classes with a strong emphasis on the core values of the martial arts - self-discipline, self-confidence and self-control.

Based on traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate training, combined with the current needs of our members, we provide a proven system for success and advancement. We are an officially accredited dojo of the Shotokan Karate International Federation (SKIF) that is led by the world-famous karate master Soke Hirokazu Kanazawa, 10th Degree Black Belt.
Services
Dojo etIquette as set forth by the S.K.I.F. are to be carefully followed. These rules have been handed down from ancient times and are continued as part of the Karate-do. Whenever entering or leaving the dojo, stand in the doorway, face the front, bow and say "oss".

Late arrivals should make themselves known to the Instructor by kneeling at the side of the Dojo floor, bowing to the Shrine or Shomen and then to the Instructor where the student must wait for permission to join the class. While a class is in session, karate-ka should not lean against the wall or lie down on the mats.
Peak Performance offers a number of ways to introduce karate in a safe, encouraging environment. The options range from a 6 week introductory class for youth as young as 4, to adults of any age. The Dojo is operated by Sensei Chris Johnson (Chief instructor, 6th Dan) and Sempai Dan Mathieu (3rd Dan).
