Dr. John Skvorak Jr. was born and raised in Westbrook. Maine. He earned his bachelors degree at the University of Maine and went onto dental school at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. When he returned to Maine with his wife and was ready to start a dental practice he chose Westbrook, his hometown.
That was over 25 years ago. Dr. Skvorak is an experienced Greater Portland dentist practicing out of his state of the art dental facility located conveniently on Bridgton Road in Westbrook, with close proximity to Windham, Portland, Falmouth, Gorham and Yarmouth. Dr. Skvorak has practiced dentistry for over thirty years. Dr. Skvorak received his bachelors degree from the University of Maine where he graduated with highest honors. He is a member of the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Dr. Skvorak attended dental school at the University of Connecticut.
If you have fractured a piece of tooth off, keep the section of the tooth if you can. Sometimes it is possible to re-attach the fractured piece of tooth. The tooth may be sensitive to cold, air, heat or sweets. If the tooth was fractured from an accident of some sort it is not uncommon for the tooth to be slightly more mobile than normal.
Your first visit to our office usually lasts about an hour and a half, but may take up to two hours depending on the condition of your oral health. We can break up the first appointment into two visits to fit your schedule, in which case, the cleaning portion takes place during the second visit. During your first visit, your hygienist will take any necessary x-rays and perform assessments to determine your oral health status.

My son and I have been going to Dr. Skvorak for close to 20 years. They are top notch in every category. From the lovely surroundings, to the expert and friendly staff. Every hygienist that I have ever had, is impeccable in their knowledge, friendliness and they go out of their way to accommodate any circumstance that I might be going through. And Dr. John S is the absolute best. Will continue here forever!

My teeth were in ruff shape. I grind my teeth really bad at night, while drumming and I clench my jaw. What my prior dentists failed to even mention to me was how bad this was going to effect me when I got older. After switching to this office, it was clear how bad it really was.. I was traveling through town and had an emergency situation. Dr John made room for me immediately and was impeccable in his knowledge, expertise, execution, kindness, and focused attention in a difficult circumstance. After a grueling 6 hour treatment, my teeth are better now than Before I had the problem. Staff was FIRST rate and they made me a new crown in house that was perfect. 10 out of 10 for Dr John. I would recommend him to anyone. He is the real deal. For SURE.

I've been coming to Pear Tree Dentistry for the past 6 years, since moving to the area, and the entire team is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and genuinely cares about your experience. I needed a lot of work done and Dr. Skvorak has done an incredible job, not just in the final results but also during the process. They made me feel very relaxed, despite my nervousness, and talked me through the procedure. I highly recommend the practice!

From scheduling, check in, dental work, and check out this staff is excellent and most qualified. I traveled 1400 + miles to have my dental work done. My association with this practice is 25 years(from the start).
