Horrible service. My husband and I wanted to stop by for wine and appetizers around 5:30PM, as we had just finished shopping. The male host was very rude. It was a Wednesday evening and there were many tables open outside and at the bar. We asked for one outside and he stated we could only sit in the back of the restaurant on a couch. He was condescending and his tone was extremely abrasive. We immediately left. We do not recommend this restaurant due to the unpleasant service.

We've been going to The Atlantic Restaurant ever since it opened and are growing increasingly disappointed. The last couple of times, menu items we selected were over-seasoned, especially with salt. But last evening was the worse. They have what was a wonderful bar, where people could enjoy each others' company. But now they limit the bar to meal only. It was deserted when we arrived (and left) but they insisted we had to go sit in a couch outside, all by ourselves. We ordered martinis, mine on the rocks. It obviously had been shaken with ice, instead of simply being poured over ice because it

This may be our favorite restaurant on the island, especially when you can get a seat outside overlooking Edgartown Harbor. Food is always excellent and prepared well. Had the Sirloin, gratin potatoes and lobster salad on a recent visit, and everything was delicious.
One downside: Because it's good, it is often super busy and they don't take reservations, so we always try to be on the early side when dining here -- or be prepared for a lengthy wait!

Food and scenery is picture perfect! We sat outside, right near the docks, which made for a great backdrop as the sun began to set. If you're looking for COVID safe dining, this is the right place as there are a number of seating options both indoor and out. Food and cocktails menu is varied - there's something for everyone - and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

The Atlantic has such a great view and if it's your first time on island, I always recommend this for lunch. For the seafood lovers - order the lobster macaroni and cheese, it is hands down my favorite on island! For the vegetarians, order the tomato bisque and grilled cheese (a steal at $11) I have been having this soup for EIGHT years straight and the recipe is consistently the same and so good! For the vegans - get the Impossible Burger on a salad (no cheese no bun) and you'll love it! The hosts are the nicest ever, the staff comes back every year so it's like seeing family and overall the ambiance
