IL-DO Taekwondo Association
IL-DO Taekwondo Martial Arts was established in Orange County over 40 years ago in 1980. We were the first to establish a Taekwondo Martial Arts school here in Irvine and have remained the best in instruction ever since. With three convenient locations, we have continued to grow in our quest to bring traditional Taekwondo and the benefits of martial arts to all those willing to learn.

We are part of the most popular martial arts in the world and certify those who learn from us with the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and Kukkiwon. Lead by Grandmaster Chang Jin Kang, IL-DO Taekwondo Martial Arts Schools carry on a tradition that has grown from Grandmaster's half century of training in Taekwondo Martial Arts.
Services
It is Grand Master Chang Jin Kang's mission through Taekwondo training, the true mindset of Taekwondo and hard work become a part of the lives of children and young people so that they may become leaders at the forefront of their generation. We must persevere through physical, mental and spiritual trials to attain our personal improvement.
Taekwondo is a great Family Activity! Training side by side with your children is a truly special experience. You will share a common activity and cheer each other on as you move through the different belt ranks and meet dozens of other friendly families. Taekwondo emphasizes courtesy, respect, and appreciation for others.
Each 30 minute session includes exercises to develop balance, coordination, and gross motor skills. Your child will run, jump, kick, and have a great time while improving their athleticism. It's a perfect way to develop healthy habits and a positive attitude towards physical activity. And for children who are constantly in motion.
Confident Kids are Happy Kids! As your child starts learning martial arts, something amazing happens. As their skills improve, they realize that they were capable of more than they thought, and this boosts both their self image and self esteem. Bullies often seek out kids whose posture, voice tone, and self confidence levels make them an easy target.
Would you like to look forward to working out? Now you can. Our adult classes are taught by high energy instructors who will inspire you to give your best. No two classes are alike, and at each session you will learn new techniques and refine your skills. It's a process of constant learning that will motivate you to train consistently.

Always positive, always upbeat. Don't like the rule about having kids wear a mask, but all is good. Great Tae Kwan Do and martial art experience for kids. Seems like they really enjoy teaching and my son likes the rewards for showing up and doing the work. Children love all of the Masters. Focus and Discipline Improvement!

Our son joined their Cubs program a couple months ago, and after the initial shyness, we saw how much he enjoyed going to training every, single time. Furthermore, because the instructors teach respect, focus, courtesy, perseverance, and other values, we saw a change in his behavior and motivation for the better.
The instructors themselves are motivating and kind, and Master Daniel in particular is easy to work with in administrative school matters.
When our son gets older, I may join him in Taekwondo myself, although my bad back may not allow it (previously did Krav Maga until the back stopped

Maybe it was me thinking an over weight guy, in his late 50's could go into a studio where they are supposed to know about physical fitness and perceive or at least talk to me about how difficult my goal would be, but they did not. I signed up for a one year contract and I fulfilled my part of the deal, but I do not think they did a good job. They could have recommended something else first and I would have returned, but I don't even feel I was even respected by his students who worked at the place of business.

I have a great appreciation for Il do taekwondo. All of the staff is incredibly capable and well trained. They all work well with the children that come to learn. My son who began learning at the age of 5 has learned so much from here. The instructors help encourage my daughter to become a better athlete and person. Learning the values of persistence, he has become hardworking and focused and patient. Thank you, I definitely recommend this place!

They staff is very capable and works well with children of all ages. My daughter started at 5 and has gained so much from this ongoing training! She has a better appreciation of the concept of focus, perseverance, hard work and reward! They will work with the child to build confidence and little by little the child is pushed, first gently then more sternly to help bring out their skill and aspire to be better! They also teach kids how to deal with bullies and how to speak up for themselves! Will definitely recommend!

As a current student at this institution, I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn Taekwondo. The only possible downside of Ildo that I've experienced so far is that self-defense techniques (besides the basic kicks, punches, and blocks) are typically not offered until after an individual obtains black belt status.

This is a great school! My daughter Maddie started almost a year ago on what we thought was a late summer distraction and now she goes three times a week! They don't just teach kids Tae Kwon Do but also the proper values that go with it. They emphasize respect and strict adherence to structure. Grandmaster Kang, Master Daniel and their staff are great with kids BUT they don't cuddle them. They empower them and encourage them to to step up. My daughter is 6 years old! Highly recommended!
