Cypress Animal Hospital is proud to serve the Tequesta, FL area for everything pet-related. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Richard E. Smith, who is a licensed, experienced Tequesta veterinarian. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.
Richard E. Smith is a native of Chicago, Illinois, who has called Florida his home for 43 years. Dr. Smith is a graduate of Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Smith purchased the Hobe Sound Veterinary Clinic in 1980 and practiced there until 2015. Since then he has worked as a relief veterinarian in Martin and Palm Beach Counties.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.

Dr. Mary Hauser has taken exceptional care of all five of my animals. Since they're all rescues they came with health problems. I can see a difference in their quality of life ever since Dr. Hauser took over their care. She's caring, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and has the best bedside manner. I'm lucky to have someone who loves my family members taking care of their many medical needs!!!

Dr. Hauser is outstanding! We switched from another vet after getting an estimate for dental work that was exorbitant, and we've been taking our 16 year old Bengal cat to her ever since them. She is knowledgeable and compassionate and the charges are very fair. We won't take our furry friend anyplace else for care anymore.

My husband and I recently moved to the area and had a hard time trying to find a new vet that met our standards, as our precious vet from out of state was amazing. We are SO happy we found Dr. K's! We have generally felt disappointed in the quality of veterinarian services in the Jupiter area for some time now (have gone to many clinics). The last several times we have called Cypress Animal Hospital they could not help us for one reason or another and when we finally saw Dr. Hauser we felt the charges were very high for what was done. Regardless, I called Cypress Friday afternoon needing immediate attention for a cat. The receptionist stated that, "Dr. Hauser was out sick." I asked if they could take/keep the cat until Dr. Hauser could see it in the morning and Receptionist replied

They are always trying to push things on me that my animals don't need here. I have an epileptic cat and I understand that's not something they normally see here. It just seems like that are guessing about things like if it is safe to clean his teeth and not checking into it. If I wasn't so careful and always consulting a neurologist, I would be worried that this practices would harm my cat.

We have seen Dr. K many times in the 20 + years we have lived in Jupiter. He saved one of our cats lives that was on her last leg. We believe the cat was poisoned. Dr. K brought her back. He was wonderful and caring, called us with frequent updates and checked on her throughout the many nights she was there., We all couldn't believe it when we brought her home. We were so grateful. He has been there for us in times of serious need for all of our pets, from saving one's life to helping us come to terms with having to deal with the reality of a sick dog who has lived a wonderful life. Probably the classiest, most modern and caring vets we have ever met - after one tour we fell in love. They aren't the cheapest, but they're also not the most expensive, but for the treatments we got, including a new laser treatment for arthritis, our dollar goes further here, I highly recommend their care

Dr K's animal hospital is one of the best veterinarians and best animal hospitals I've been to. Not only because the staff is great and caring, but the facility is always so clean as well. Of course the best part is that the veterinarians are all so kind, empathetic, extremely knowledgable and take the time with their patients and their patients parents (us). From Dr K and all the other doctors there that we met with were great. But our main Vet that cared for our cat the most was Dr Brown. I was referred to Dr Brown through a friend and I'm so thankful they referred us to her!!

We have taken our two dogs to Dr. Brown who is one of the Vets at Dr. K Animal hospital for about two years. We think the world of Dr. Brown. She is caring, very bright, and takes a lot of time to explain things. We had friends refer us to her after a terrible experience with Chasewood Animal Hospital. Our little chihuahua was on death's door and needed a lot of attention. This Vet puts your dog's health above her own financial interest. Dr. Brown always called to make sure our pup was doing ok and reassure us. I am convinced my little chihuahua crashed as a result of a bad vet's

Dr. K's Animal Hospital provides the care THEY feel is appropriate for your animal regardless of if you are in agreement. We are loving caring parents of a 7 year old basset hound, we have been receiving care from Dr. K's for approx 1 year with a total spent around $1000.00 for general care. We are always on board with doing what is best for our dog.
