The Giving Tree of Philadelphia, Inc. operates two of the top childcare facilities in Downtown Philadelphia. Strategically located in Logan Square and Queen Village, The Giving Tree students are able to utilize the city surroundings as their playground. Services
At The Giving Tree, our teachers plan their lessons around the exploration and interests of the children, using principals from the PA Learning Standards. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of diverse age groups and developmental levels. Building, whenever possible, on experiences outside of the classroom.
Infants must feel safe and cared for in order to explore their abilities and the world around them. We strive to keep with the child's at-home routine when first starting their Giving Tree experience. Our large infant areas have cozy sleeping nooks, where your baby will feel comfortable and safe. We encourage social and emotional development through recognizing facial expressions and the sounds of our environment around us.
At The Giving Tree, we support these new needs by encouraging daily discoveries and self-sufficiency. Our toddlers can enjoy quiet time reading their favorite stories in the library, or channel their energy during yoga in our gym. We encourage our toddlers' self-help skills through toilet training and a consistent emphasis on self-hygiene, including hand-washing and self-serve snacks.
Our preschool program emphasizes cognitive lessons and developmentally appropriate play, meshed together to keep learning fun. The program is tailored to help children coordinate their individual learning into group learning. Children learn to help their peers during journal writing and participate in hands-on math and science projects.
Four and Five year old children love to learn and experience exciting new adventures. Our kindergarten prep program is designed for children who just miss the kindergarten cut off or are old enough to attend kindergarten but would benefit from another year of Pre-K. Our kindergarten prep program emphasizes phonics, science, math concepts, world history/geography and journal writing.
