Family Tae Kwon DO Center
Family TaeKwonDo is unlike most martial arts schools you will find. We are a community of students in Littleton, Colorado learning and practicing martial arts and self defense. In an effort to reach as many students as possible, our masters and instructors volunteer their time. This helps keep tuition low and engagement high.

We invite you to learn more about our Dojang and hope that you will join us for a complimentary class. Great day to train with Grandmaster Sean Cavins, Mary Everson, 3rd dan, and Larry Allan, 2nd dan! @ Frisco, Colora. Unlike most schools, Family TaeKwonDo Center emphasizes involving the entire family in our training.
Services
Come join us for testing. It's a great opportunity to watch our students demonstrate the skills they have learned through hard work and practice. Join us for an afternoon movie, pizza and refreshments as we turn the dojang into a theater for the afternoon. Parents are welcome to join or drop off and get some shopping done.
While we emphasize the need to avoid physical confrontation by all means possible, we teach students how to defend themselves if such a confrontation is unavoidable. Much of what we study in terms of self defense at Family Tae Kwon Do is based on sparring and the art of Hapkido. One major component of our self defense training is the Won Shim forms.
In other words, control of the mind, self-discipline, kindness and humility must accompany the physical grace. Our goal is to teach people self defense and traditional Taekwondo in a pleasant family atmosphere. We teach the discipline and respect that you can expect from the martial arts but also we want families to enjoy the training.
I have been training in Taekwondo since 1993. I earned my first black belt in 1996, and am currently a 4th Dan black belt. As we age, it's very important to keep our bodies moving and our minds active. Taekwondo offers me the opportunity to do both. As an instructor, I really enjoy teaching all of our forms, but especially the Wonshim self-defense forms.
This is a brief explanation of a few of the basic courtesies and rules that our students and instructors follow. While respect for teachers and fellow students is a part of any class setting, it is more important in martial arts training where injuries may result if the instructors directions are not followed.
