Michael V. Switzer is dedicated to helping families in the Denver metro area and front range who are in need of family legal guidance. Michael is a Colorado native who studied at the University of Northern Colorado for his undergraduate degree in history as a secondary education teacher, and then earned his law degree at the University of Denver in 1998.
We understand how overwhelming it can be to find yourself facing the end of a marriage, and dealing with the legal issues that come with divorce. Our team is here to guide you through the legal process while ensuring that you are treated fairly, with dignity and respect. Whether facing an ex-spouse, another attorney or the court, you can rely on us to look out for you and make sure your voice is heard.
There are two steps in an adoption case: the first is relinquishing the current parent's rights regarding the child; the second is for a qualified and "morally sound" individual to take the place as the legal parent of the child. Adoptions can be complex matters, especially if a parent does not agree to relinquish the child, as a parent has certain constitutional rights.
The court can make a mistake, even when it operates with the best intentions. Whether there was an error by the Judge interpreting the law, a misunderstanding of the facts of your case, or a substantial error by the attorney representing you, some mistakes can be corrected. You have the right to appeal orders in your case.
Family law cases concerning children issues are often the most contentious and difficult. You love your children, and you will fight as hard as you can to maintain your place in their lives. We appreciate your feelings, and we want you to know that we will do everything we can to ensure that you get the outcome you want and your children need.

I frequently refer my own clients going through a tough situation to Michael and his team. I have heard nothing but glowing compliments on his work. Attorneys go through a lot of push and pull, and sometimes the outcomes aren't what people expect, but Michael goes above and beyond in finding the best solutions.
Angelica is highly professional and truly a delight as well. Together they make an extraordinary team.
Coming from the business side of things- Michael and Angelica are always kind and willing to make sure they will be the best choice for a referral.

As a fellow attorney, I have worked both with and against Mr. Switzer; I certainly prefer being on the same team! He is a highly effective, creative, and ethical advocate and among the best family law attorneys in the state. He works hard to get his clients excellent results while remaining professional and avoiding needless increases in fees. I highly recommend Mr. Switzer.

I have been working with the Switzer law firm now since my divorce 10 years ago. Mike and his team have helped me. Every step of the way, from the divorce to child custody, Mike has helped me achieve my goals.
He was also instrumental in instructing me in how to navigate several other legal processes. Highly recommended!

Bar none the best lawyer in town. Michael along side his awesome paralegal Angelica have been able to provide quality service. I retained Mr. Switzer for a custody case and I NEVER felt lost along the way. Any questions I had were answered timely and thoroughly. He was very upfront and honest which is a huge comfort, benefit, and attribute to have on your side when going through tough situations.

Michael Switzer's divorce representation was filled with multiple contradictions, narrow explanations of laws and procedures and little-to-no strategic direction. His communications often lead me to seek confirmation from other attorneys, the Internet, court clerks and the Self Help Desk at the Arapahoe Courthouse. Eventually I felt he wasn't trustworthy and acting in my best interest so I fired him.
My marriage was short - just 10 months - but the divorce was highly contested over assets and property yet Mr. Switzer seemed eager to accept nearly every proposal submitted by my wife's attorney
