Sushi Base

On 12/19/21 Sunday I ordered the Teriaky Chicken and it was horrendous it was jerky chicken and pricy too will not be going back.

Bad! I ordered a sushi roll, it was not very good. What made rate it was the chicken teriyaki plate. The chicken was old and disgusting I was really hungry and I just gagged when I attempted to eat it. Hard old and spoiled taste, Went to the Garbage. first time there and I will never go back!

Unfortunately, we were not impressed. I had high hopes for my daughter to try their ramen. When I brought it back home, I asked her how it was. She showed me the "meat" that was in her ramen was mostly whole pieces of fat. The California roll was sub-par. Sorry, will not be coming here again either.

Best sushi in San Diego. The only place I've found that has REAL wasabi and not the fake wasabi paste that everywhere else has. Great sake selection. Plenty of parking. Fast service. The owner is an awesome guy with cool stories and has been in the business for a long time.

Decent prices, very friendly and helpful staff. The California rolls didn't come with any wasabi or ginger, which I thought was odd. The tempura shrimp was very good. On the fence with the rainbow roll. Overall above average.

One of the best Sushi places I've been to in San Diego. Their spicy poke bowl is the best I've had. Everything is proper! I'm going to make special trips here for sushi!

Food tasted stale , ordered takoyaki,three sushi rolls , and shrimp yakasoba. Shrimp in yakasoba was not fresh. Rolls were ok but not the best . Staff was friendly, but food just seemed like it was very poor quality ingredients or old. Place looks clean until you go to bathroom . Then you see the scope of their filth. After eating asked to use restroom was told to walk around building down dark alley and then enter their back door. See pictures for yourself. Also the kitchen was just as disgusting.

Longer grain rice than I’m used to seeing with sushi but tasted fine. I got their caterpillar roll and my partner got the rainbow roll. I would say definitely enjoyed my meal more than he did because the rainbow roll came with a sweet dressing on top he didn’t see from the menu/picture that completely masked the taste of the fish - so beware of that. I also wasn’t necessarily expecting the crab part of my rolls to be a crab salad sort of thing instead of crab stick. When we came the AC was broken so all the fish came out a little warm for my taste but our salmon

Solid sushi spot. Very small space, but large value. Thick cuts of great fish. It's not the highest quality fish I've had, but it's fresh, generous portions that make this spot worth coming back to.
Excellent saki. I've never seen these bottles anywhere else and they rock!!

I have many sushi places I attend regularly, but this one was a hidden gem. The chef was nice and friendly and the food were unbelievably delicious.
I ordered the spicy noodles, caterpillar roll, big plate of sashimi combo, and udon noodles soup. The spicy noodles had great flavoring, just perfect. You might want to ask for more chili if you like it very spicy. The caterpillar roll came in a good portion, rice quality was great. The sashimi combo plate had a great variety of fish, octopus, and shrimp that were very fresh and tasty. I will definitely return for the udon noodles, especially on a
