1. Hair must be worn down and Curly, and Completely Dry. 3. The curly girl method of cutting requires we see the hair in it's natural form as we will cut your hair dry first, then cleanse and show you how to apply and choose the right products and application methods and tools, to minimize frizz and optimize your curls.

Kate was extremely unprofessional, double-booked me and another patron told me “she didn’t have time to color my hair.” The cut she gave me was uneven and way too short. She rescheduled with me twice just to tell me a day before the appointment after the third time at 12:00 pm that because she was moving salons ( which was prior knowledge that even the other worker mentioned) she didn’t want to continue due to not knowing which products would be available in September.

Chrissy is awesome! She worked wonders on my hair (2c - 3a, low density) to my daughter's hair (3c - 4a, high density).
I did not like one of the other girls as much, who is a senior stylists. The haircut was good, but styling was awful.
I can't say much for anyone else, but Chrissy is definitely my girl!

I had an amazing experience!!! I got my hair cut from mid back to a little bit above the shoulders. It was a curly cut. Kate, the hairstylist who did my hair, was wonderful. She communicated with me and checked through every step of the process to make sure I was happy with how everything turned out. Absolutely recommend going here!

I had a great experience at Imago. It was my first time getting a curly cut and it was great! Chrissy was amazing and she cut my hair exactly how I wanted and made sure to ask questions to make sure she was cutting it right. She showed me how to apply my product better and gave me tips on how to achieve volume and minimize my frizz. She also showed me how to diffuse my hair correctly. The hood dryer they used dried my hair pretty quickly So I didn’t have to go or with wet hair and the hair cream Chrissy put in my hair was amazing and smelled so good like oranges 🍊. I’ve been to this salon several times and so have members of my family and friends I’ve previously referred. I recently had to miss an appointment, that I called to reschedule, due to having to work with covid patients the day before. This salon charged me $75 for the appointment anyways and have been incredibly unprofessional in trying to resolve the issue. I was told to wait several days while they combed through phone records to prove I called. Not once did they ever notify me of any such charge and they refuse to refund my money stating they require 48 hours notice. Additionally, they are

This was my second visit here - they curly cut is amazing!! I went here originally because they see the only DIVA method salon in the srea. They do such a wonderful job and really pay close attention to how your hair will dry. Chrissie spent a lot of time teaching me good techniques to get the same good styling at home. I really love and highly recommend this place to anyone with curly hair.

They always do an amazing job!! Everyone is always so efficient and professional! I battled with my curly hair for years and thought I’d be relegated to flat-ironing everyday forever, but because of Imago and… Chrissy I finally know how to take care of my hair. After receiving a recommendation from a friend, I chose to book an appointment here for a curly girl cut about a month ago. Prior to my visit I had very long wavy hair that was fairly damaged at the ends. I hadn't gotten a good cut in a few years and decided it was time. I was looking forward to having a new style and clearing my hair of all my dead ends, however I was totally displeased by the results. I have 3c curls that I've been trimming myself for the past 6 years or so. Needless to say, I'm not super comfortable getting my hair cut as all my past experiences have ended in varying degrees of disappointment.. But, I felt I could trust the stylists at Imago. Couldn’t be happier. My first time at Imago was for my first Curly Cut and it was with Chrissy. She definitely was interested in what I wanted, where I was at in my curly journey and made recommendations. She… talked about products and ingredients. What to look for and what were definite no’s. She cut my hair dry, added product while wet and had me on the most relaxing setting in the dryer and POOF! My hair is light, healthy and no frizz! I absolutely love this place. I have curly hair probably around 2c-ish and they cut it so perfectly. I also got my hair dyed and that came out really beautiful.
I always feel like I'm getting ready to go on a hair commercial after I visit this place. Take advantage of the lot next to them, it's super useful on the weekends.

I was really excited to get my hair cut at Imago. It had been a year since I had had it cut. I have type 2c/3a curls that get weighed down when they're too long. I usually get a standard wet cut from someone who has cut it for the past 10 years and has always done a good job. I had lost a lot of hair in the past year or two due to stress and some health issues. I was excited to have a "curly" cut for the first time that would really enhance my curls and give them body.

Let me let you all know.. I am natural, and a black woman ( this is relevant) ... but save your money if you think you want to come here... DONT. I came here to get a Deva cut which came out nice the first time February 15th 2017 so I was planning a trip to see my fiancé come home from his previous duty station in November. So come around to November 21st (Mind you I had a flight THEE next day) anywho, I go and get my trim and we had previously discussed getting a partial highlight and possibly adding more if needed be. Will never go anywhere else as long as I live in Richmond. I am terrified of hair salons, I have had multiple experiences sitting in the salon chair or leaving the salon balling my eyes out. Within five minutes of speaking with Taylor I felt confident in her abilities. I didn't have to explain my hair, she actually described my hair type better than I ever could.

I am extremely particular about my hair, as many many hairdressers and stylists have messed it up in the past. Two of my friends, with gorgeous curly hair, recommended Imago to me, and on very short notice, I was able to book an appointment with Chrissy. This girl is amazing. She spent a good amount of time speaking to me about my hair in the past, issues I may have with it currently and what I was looking for. She talked me through what she is doing, which ended up being very informative and educational! All in all, very happy with my hair, and would definitely go back!

I have been going to this salon for about 8 months now since a friend referred me to them to get control of my frizzy, curly hair. After one visit I was convinced and left my dearest stylist of 18 years.
Not only are the stylists and staff as friendly and inviting but Very talented as well. Jessica makes me feel beautiful and important. She takes her time with coloring, cutting and styling. It is clear to me she takes great pride in her work and I feel good every time I am there and for days afterwards that feeling lingers.
To anyone with curly hair I would say its a good bet you won't find

I was a little nervous because I had read a few bad reviews, but they couldn't be further from my experience!!! My sister in law (who also has curly hair) found out about this "curly girl" salon after asking a girl with a cute cut where she cut her hair.
I had been in the dry mid-west all year and was hating how frizzy my ringlets were becoming. It was time for some professional help, and I got it!
We called in on Sautrday and was booked for that Sunday. Sunday was super chill and relaxing! It was my first time getting a dry cut, and it is fabulous! I won't go anywhere
