Services
At Albemarle Animal Hospital we require all your family pets, young and old, get a wellness exam to begin care. The Doctors like to look over your furry friend, not only to meet and introduce ourselves, but to check for new lumps or bumps and any other health concerns. This annual exam is your pets "physical" to insure great quality of life and to keep them up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
Vaccinations will prevent many major diseases in your pet. Albemarle Animal Hospital recommends creating and adhering to a customized vaccination schedule as part of a comprehensive wellness plan. Vaccines help your pet live longer, healthier lives. Schedule an appointment today to learn more and start vaccines.
The American Veterinary Dental Society tells us that 80% of dogs and 70% of cats show signs of oral disease by the age of 3. Dental disease affects more than just the teeth and gums. Tooth damage, decay, and inflammation or infections of the gums can result in serious medical problems for pets, such as heart, lung, and kidney disease.
A well-groomed pet is more likely to be hugged, and pets live healthier and happier lives when they have a healthy coat and skin. At Albemarle Animal Hospital bathers are qualified to bath dogs of all breeds to your specifications. All bathing guests need to have had a veterinary exam within the year, as well as be up to date on all vaccines and Flu shots.
When you travel sometimes your pets can't come along. The Albemarle Animal Hospital offers boarding services for fully vaccinated dogs and cats. Our fully trained kennel staff walk your dog three times a day during normal business hours and twice a day over the weekend. You're welcome to bring your pets own food.

I took both cats in for an update of the rabies vaccination. One of my girls has a bad tooth. I asked them to take a look and let me know if she should be on antibiotics and what else should be done. Was not allowed inside although I was masked. Brought her back out and said showed no evidence of swelling and I should make an appointment at a vet of my choice when I move to Greenville. AAC has been my vet for thirty years but I will find someone else. My cat's tooth is pointing straight out of her mouth and there is a bad odor. Don't understand how that could be missed.

To me this is a very uncaring vets office. I tried to get my dog in to see a doctor today and they were very rude. I wouldn't have been there if I didn't really need them. My dog was very sick. But that's alright, I took him to the Tarboro Animal Clinic and even though they had a full load,
they took him right in.
they took him right in.

Tarboro is so lucky to have such a wonderful veterinarian's office. All of the staff and the two veterinarians (Dr. McGee and Dr. Weeks) are both so caring, compassionate and talented. Despite it constantly being busy there, they take the time to explain what's going on with your pet and generally provide multiple options with honest and accurate price estimates. Love them and can't say enough good things about this practice!
