Established in 1977, the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) is an international membership association comprised of interdisciplinary health care professionals. Through its ultimate goal to improve the quality of health care, ABQAURP is dedicated to providing health care education and certification for physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.

I found the HCQM Certification with Physician Advisor sub-specialty to be invaluable in my development as a physician advisor. The certification process helped broaden and solidify my knowledge in so many areas including health care quality metrics, payer models, and the role of case management. This will allow ACPA to offer its membership a meaningful and formal Board Certification process with a sub-specialty option for Physician Advisors.

This company robs you. It costs more to keep this certification active than it does for all of my actual medical licenses combined. It’ll cost over $1000 to get your certification. It’ll cost about $250 per year just to be a member and keep your certification. It’ll cost over about $500 to renew which is every 2 years. I called customer service to see if this was accurate and the representative confirmed it.
