The Select Group offers the leadership and administrative skills necessary for the smooth operation of your property and community association. Managing a community association requires hands on attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From Virginia beach, The Select Group, Inc. offers its services to the entire Hampton Roads area.
The Select Group brings over two decades of professional experience in effective administration of all areas of financial management of community associations. Budget projections, establishing standard operating procedures and maintenance of proper records for annual audit and tax reports are but a few of the areas of expertise demanded to permit successful communication with both boards of directors and their designated accountant.
A major element in community association management is the upkeep and repair of the physical property (property management), not only to preserve and enhance the real estate value, but also to keep all facilities in the safest condition for residents and guests. On call to The Select Group is a team of professional contractors to perform repairs or replacements as noted in our regular inspections or brought to our attention by a unit owner.

Much to my dismay, working with the Select Group over the past 3.5 years has been in an incredibly frustrating and negative experience.

Delinquency letters are received without including a statement showing the reason for the shortage, and the tone of the letter is vitriolic...as though several attempts have been made to collect, but have been ignored - yet this is not the case. Considering that 3rd party charges are included, as well as the fact that many homeowners rent their property out & may be unaware there is even a problem, it seems incredibly inconsiderate and unprofessional to send

An absolute scam. We are paying increased dues simply because others don't pay their dues. It makes no sense. No playground, no pool, no maintenance of the entrance way or common areas. Not a single person in the neighborhood knows what they're paying for except the salaries of The Select Group itself. Our entire neighborhood is outraged.

I called them about parking pass no response cause they keep towing our vehicles from our complex even if we park in visiting parking we waiting for them to return a call. So You have to spend all this money because they not even responding

I am a condo owner at a property managed by The Select Group.
I have numerous complaints about them but I am starting with the most egregious.

I reported a roof leak in Sept. 2020 that caused interior damage to my condo. The association is responsible for the roof. It took more than 3 months for the association to fix the roof itself and as of today, April 1, 2021, the interior damage has not even been assessed. I went through the winter with a bad roof.

The association manager last stated that I could attend a board meeting to discuss my concerns. Why should I have to attend a board

We could not be more pleased with the excellent service we receive from Select Realty. They impeccably maintain Chambord Commons in Virginia Beach, including beautiful landscaping and grounds maintenance. They even contract with a street sweeper to keep the parking lot spotless. Since we've had our offices at Chambord Commons (6 years -two different locations - changed because we needed a larger unit, but wanted to stay with Select), they've painted to exterior repeatedly to keep it sparkling white. If they aren't painting one year, they are powerwashing. It's a great place to have your business

The select group ( Jill the owner ) Especially is unprofessional. She over talks people and will never take ownership. She refuse to talk to you when any issue comes up. She made a "advisory board" that is made up of homeowners she picked with zero diversity. They make you go to the advisory board anytime you have a issue. I don't pay the advisory board to handle my issues. Jill the owner needs to retire bc she horrible at her chosen profession.

I closed on a house that had this company as their association managers. They are quick with communication about any money owed and rules issues, but if you have questions, need repairs to external parts of the house it requires an email to the owners to get any results. Lily is the sole helpful person and the only one I would trust at this company.

Last week was extremely stressful for me. I felt like everything was falling apart around me. I was at my breaking point when I received a letter in the mail from my community manager. I called to discuss the matter and I was instantly greeted by their receptionist Victoria. She is the only reason I am doing this review. I loved how she provided her name and she seemed so happy and enthusiastic. She could, tell I was on my last straw without me even having to tell her. This place is a absolute Slum lord central. I called many times to have things repaired and got little to no resolution. They sent out some hopeless handymen that made matters only worst . When I called back I was accused of tampering with their work and was never offered a solution. Please do yourself a favor and find someone else to rent or buy a house from!

Our association hired them and was not satisfied at all. Jill Albright is one of the owners and she is particularly difficult to work with as has no interest in customer satisfaction. We definitely would never recommend them.

This realty company continues to execute poorly in anything they do. A bunch of people working here who could care less about the actual property owners for their 9-5. I could right five essays on the poor business practice. I've reported them to the BBC, local news, and anyone else that would of listen. The fact that we can't get rid of them as a realty group is just depressing. I'd rather throw my $300 a month in the trash. It'd have the same value.

They are absolutely awful. Rude when you call and act like your a problem. I'm the owner I should be treated as such. They make you feel like your renting from them. This house is a nightmare because of them. I do not feel as if it's my home. Each year the association price keeps going up they make it to where you can not afford your home. For ridiculous things they charge you. I've asked around to many places and everyone's jaw drops when they find out what they charge. I'm so pissed.

Absolutely terrible company. Management will just send you letters without going to look at an issue. Notices and statements are sent out late right up to a deadline. The staff is incapable of rectifying situations and works poorly with homeowners. Take your business elsewhere because this company is painful to deal with and will take up a lot of your time.

If I could give 0 stars I would. There are by far better realty companies that care and want renters. I would strongly advise not using them. Truly rude people and lack of empathy. Go with Atkinson or Property shoppe, have been waiting for my security deposit to be returned for over 2 months.

I could make it long but I donĀ“t want to waste any more time on Select Realty. The service is horrible to say the least - I am mostly mad at Google now for making me give at least 1 star. I have waited 2 and 1/2 to 3 months on a reply to my inquiry with absolutely no resolution or response. I have called in about 10 times now and left 5 voice messages. I have lived in the condos at Chancellor Walk for 15 years and never asked for anything before. Fix my issue ASAP please and I will think about deleting this review.

August 2009-May 2015. This company was the management company for a home owner's association for a neighborhood in which I lived in Virginia Beach. They were not easy to work with, did not return phone calls, and did not keep their word on a few occasions.

Horrible company to work with and very shady characters. They are actually known as "The Select Group", and appear to have several websites under different names. They maintain apartment complexes and condos, most of which devolve into barely livable environments. They were actually voted out of my complex because of how they failed so miserably at their job. I can't even go into the numerous lawsuits that were threatened to be brought against them in my short time dealing with the company.

HORRIFYING real estate company. I've been renting for over a year and half with them and have had several horrible experiences. Myra is the worst realtor hands down! She doesn't carry a cell phone on her so if you have any kind of emergency be prepared to wait a month. My shower hasn't worked for almost 6 weeks! The hot water heater is leaking from the unit above and left a GAPING hole in the ceiling that collapsed at 3am in the morning. I've left several voicemails but playing phone tag with someone without a cell phone is pointless. Her attitude and professionalism seem to always be
