Dr. Evelyn Sagastume is the founder and owner of Petsadena Animal Hospital. She was raised in Southern California but left for a time to study at the University of California, Davis, where she graduated with a Bachelor's in Animal Science & Management. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the same institution.

CAUTION. My pup had an appt w/ Dr. Budde, who is very nice. However, there were some worries about billing. As a first time customer, you pay online prior to the appt. However, when you come in for your appt, they charge you again. As I was waiting in the lobby for a while, I saw this happen to multiple people including myself. Twice I had to ask they remove this redundant charge. Finally, after a long wait they “found” the payment and subtracted it. On an additional note, they book only 15 minute appointments and have no real time, even for a first appt, to take much care.

The service I received in the morning compared to the afternoon is night and day. The morning was very prompt and staff was extremely professional and courteous. Everything was handled very well. In the afternoon, the service was terrible. I was frustrated that I had to wait for over an hour just to pick up my dog when they said he was ready. The Doctor wanted to review the X-rays so I get it. But when I asked the tech (glasses, bald) why there was so many staff members in the morning and none in the afternoon, he became very defensive and said “where do you work? What job do you do? Petsadena Animal Hospital is great! Everyone who worked here was so friendly and Dr Michelle was so sweet to my dog and seemed to genuinely care about him and his health. The process of booking an appointment and getting him seen was very easy and streamlined. Very happy I made the decision to take my dog here. Thanks Petsadena!

I've been going to this vet for years. What happened after tonight, I need yo give 1 star. My dog was scheduled at 5pm. I was trying to find parking and as I did I called and was on hold for nearly 10 minutes. Since COVId they haven't allowed partners in and they come and collect the animals. At 5.15 I was able to talk to someone and they explained that we were able to come in with our pets. I come in and they told me we were checked in. 5.35 I ask the front desk when we are meeting with the vet. They take a few minutes and tell me I will need to come back another day because I was late

Two days after I posted this review I received a phone call from Lilliana the business manager. I was a little hesitant to call her back but I am glad I did. She was very empathetic to our situation and wanted to make it right, we were even given a full refund.
In case you weren't aware Petsadena does record phone conversations and without going into much details it was obvious from listening to the conversation that a miscommunication had occurred.
I know that they can't bring him back but I am glad that at least they were able to address the situation and hopefully they can change

Had a great first visit to Petsadena/Dr. Erika Budde. Brought my senior dog in for arthritis evaluation and treatment recommendations. The entire staff - front desk, vet tech, Dr. Budde - was professional, friendly, and seemed genuinely concerned about my pet and her needs. All staff were very knowledgeable, more than willing to answer my many questions, and handled my old girl with gentleness and calm patience. My time with Dr. Budde was not rushed, she provided her recommendations but didn't push anything on me. She answered my many questions and seemed extremely knowledgeable and up-to-date

I couldn't be happier with my visit to this hospital today. My dog had been seeing another vet in the area that I was also happy with, but recently it was taking up to two weeks to get a simple appointment which I wasn't pleased about. It was important that I find an equally good vet with more availability and my Yelp search led me here.

Enjoyed our first visit here! We got a new puppy and needed to make an appointment for his next set of vaccines asap, we called too late and his appt would have been later. They were kind enough to call us back if a slot/earlier time opened up! We were able to come in a week earlier.
The staff was welcoming! Our doctor, Jennifer, was very kind and caring to our little pup. We had plenty of questions as we are first-time pet owners and she was very patient and answered all our questions! We felt like we had a better understanding in how to take care our pup after our visit.

This was my first visit to Petsadena and it will be my last. I have six cats, and my youngest one needed his initial booster shots. Usually vets will just give my cats the shots in the same room while I'm there, and I can hold them and keep them from being afraid or nervous. Instead, Dr. Gabriele walked in, grabbed him up and took him into another room for his shots. He came back frightened and nervous. Since then, he has been scared of me, won't let me hold him, and very jumpy. He's afraid I'll take him back there. There was no reason to traumatize him that way.

We have a Boston, Louie and since we moved here we have been coming to Petsadena.
We have recieved nothing but exceptional care.
Everyone from the Reception staff to the Vet techs to the Vets themselves have always been outstanding.
Are they busy, yes. Do they still take the time to explain everything, again yes.
We would not go anywhere else.

Everyone - from the front desk to the nurse to the vet - were so so friendly.
Parking is a little hard becyase they're parking is really limited, but everything else was very smooth. Try to be early instead of late because they won't take you after 20 min of your appointment time - which makes sense since they're booked back to back. They treat the animals so well. My cat has never not tried to kill a vet before but she was relatively calm and the vets said nice things about her (unlike the other vets I've been to, the always complained about how aggressive she was). We foster cats and kittens and we bring them here for urgent checkups. Making an appointment is easy as we do it online, and the curb side pick up with video or phone call makes it so easy. The doctor and staff members here are so nice and knowledgeable. They really remember their patients.
The price is higher for us non-profit foster care givers but they're definitely a great vet for your lovely fur-family.

Grateful for this place as they care for my animals. Dr. Reyna has been the only one to see my dogs since moving to the area & I respect her opinion and recommendations. I can tell the staff does care but maybe they just don't have enough people. But after my experience today, I do wish things went different.
My biggest complaint is timing - it's exceptionally bad. It doesn't matter if you text their number or call 30 minutes before your appointment telling them that you're there (which their voicemail says to do in order to fill out paperwork). They still run 15-20 minutes
