We are located at the corner of Michillinda Avenue and Sierra Madre Boulevard in Pasadena, California. With an all new staff and an extensively remodeled front office, we are delighted to be serving the Sierra Madre, Arcadia, Pasadena, Hastings Ranch and surrounding communities. Dr. Cailleteau has over 20 years of experience practicing veterinary medicine and surgery in Southern California and all of our staff is highly trained.
Dr. Walter Cailleteau was born in Santa Monica, California, and his family moved to Friendswood, Texas when he was four years old. Growing up in suburban Texas, he was exposed to a wide variety of animals. His family pets included the usual assortment of cats and dogs, but they also had horses, chickens and a goat.
Proper dental care is extremely important for our pets. In fact, dental disease is the number one illness found in both dogs and cats. Unfortunately, up to 80% of dogs and 70% of cats that don't receive proper dental care will develop signs of dental disease by the age of three.
Some possible signs of dental disease include bad breath, visible tartar on the teeth, excessive drooling, red or swollen gums, loose or missing teeth, loss of appetite and weight loss.Dental disease can also lead to internal problems, such as heart, kidney, and liver disease. Fortunately, many of these problems can be prevented, or at least alleviated, with proper dental care.

Veterinary dermatology is the study of animal skin, ear, coat and nail diseases. Skin and coat problems are common in our pets, especially during the warmer months. Common signs of skin disease include chewing, biting, scratching, licking, shaking the head, hair loss, bumps or scabs, foul odor and color or texture change of the skin or coat.
Radiology is the study and science of X-rays. Radiographs (X-rays) are commonly used to show the size, shape and position of internal organs. They are a useful diagnostic tool that can help diagnose problems that may be difficult or impossible to diagnose on routine physical examination, such as arthritis, fractures, heart disease, bladder stones, gastrointestinal foreign bodies, pneumonia and some forms of cancer.

Critical: Quality, Reliability
If your pet is seriously ill, do not come here. No sense of urgency at all. My dog died waiting for all their tests...test after test and days after days and so much money for their tests. I killed my dog by trusting this place. It's my fault I went to them and didn't realize they have no sense of urgency regarding onset of illness.

Sierra Madre Animal Hospital is the best place to take your pet. They really care about your pet's well being. Dr. Cailleteau and his entire staff are wonderful. They are responsive to worries about your pet and take good care of them when they go to their office. Dr. Cailleteau and his staff take time to explain the care your pet will be getting as well as answer any and all questions. I highly recommend them.
