Shalom Memorial Park Jewish Cemetery and Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, here to serve you, now and always. At this time, indoor services held in the Shalom Memorial Funeral Home Chapel may have up to two hundred mourners in attendance and outdoor graveside services may have any number of mourners in attendance.
MASK UPDATE ~ As of 8/2/2021, all people entering the building for both the cemetery office and the funeral home must be wearing a mask. This is in keeping with public health guidelines and in an attempt to protect and preserve the health of our community. Thank you so much for your help with this.

Services
Shalom Memorial Park has been providing personal, distinguished cemetery services in a serene setting to Chicago-area Jewish families for more than sixty years. Over the last several years we have expanded our services to meet the Jewish community's growing need for a funeral home on the grounds of Shalom Memorial Park.
The Five Wishes document gives you a way to control something very important-how you are treated if you get seriously ill. It was written with the help of The American Bar Association's Commission on Law and Aging and once it is filled out and properly signed it is valid under the laws of most states.
Pre-Planning is the act of learning about and arranging for your wishes, or for the wishes of your loved ones. Addressing one's mortality can be sobering. Pre-planning provides a way to move beyond anxiety towards clear, thoughtful decision-making. It is sensible for families to have a plan in place both emotionally and financially.
Our gates proclaim this because it is our mission to respect and care for our departed in the dignified and loving manner they deserve, while always serving the needs of the living. L'Dor v'Dor. From Generation to Generation. We keep Shalom Memorial Park's 135-acre park-like setting in pristine condition for the comfort of our visitors.
In the 1920's Randhill Park Cemetery was established as a community, non-denominational, interfaith cemetery located on the grounds immediately adjacent to Shalom Memorial Park. Today, Shalom Memorial Park and Randhill Park Cemetery are sister cemeteries uniquely able to accommodate the needs of these diverse families in our community.

The policy of uniform, flush-to-ground headstones is wonderful. Having visited family plots at Westlawn to grieve...the crowded headstones are a distraction....almost like visiting someone in jail.
The open space at Shalom allows one to pray and grieve at a family member's plot...without so much distraction.
Don't know who pioneered this policy, but thank you.

I'm getting to that age where I'm here a lot more often than I would prefer. Given the solemn circumstances one might find themselves at a memorial park, I appreciate that Shalom does their best to maintain their grounds and provide quality service to those of Jewish faith.
They're pretty conveniently located, with entrances just off Rand and off of the frontage road (Wilke?) along Highway 53. At either entrance, they provide signs to the various services that day pointing the way. The grounds are divided up into various sections, and are all easily accessible by the various

The death of your loved one is never easy. Planning and trying to make the best decisions from out of town and during a difficult time is almost impossible. My family and I were beyond pleased with the friendship, guidance and comfort that Bill Pemberton with Shalom provided. He went over and beyond to honor special requests. Bill treated each of our phone calls with compassion, handled the small details without fail and provided a service and burial that will not soon be forgotten. We will forever be grateful!
