One of our favorite local restaurants. You'll always enjoy the food, and you'll never leave hungry. I keep a running list of Cream of Crab favorites, and The Mallet always keeps spot in my top 5, and usually in my top three, and has been in the top spot a few times.

Let me give you a visual.....I travel high and low for quality crabs from Jersey to Florida and these are by far the BEST crabs I've had in a real long time especially for it to be January....I enjoyed myself and although I live in NC, I will be a regular! Good seafood ain't cheap, and cheap seafood ain't good!!! My son ordered chicken and waffles and it was good as well.

There was some good and some not so good. We were seated pretty quickly. Our server was nice but it looked like they were spread out through the restaurant. At one point I was sitting with an empty glass and finally walked up to the bar to ask for more tea. The smoked turkey had good flavor. The crab soup was nothing more than old bay seasoned vegetable soup. Very little crab shreds. No lumps.

Seafood and regular food restaurant. Maryland Mallet Restaurant and Smokehouse Pub is a few miles from the Carroll County Regional Airport. The front door opens on the upper level, and the back door opens to the lower level. Since the parking lot is on a hill, there are no steps between the parking lot and either level so both levels are handicapped accessible.
I had a cream of crab soup, plenty of cream, some crab meat, excellent seasoning. Then I had a crab melt sandwich, essentially a BLT on toast with crab meat. Very good. My cousin and his friend had crab cakes. They enjoyed them.

The food is very good, but I will not go there anymore. My husband and I went there on Wednesday and they actually charged us for dinner rolls ($2.50) AND $1.00 for gravy for our mashed potatoes!!! We spent $225 and left a $50 tip. I HATE when companies nickel and dime you for things that I've ALWAYS had come with the meal.

Terrible experience yet again. Gave them numerous attempts (forgiving lack of service). Yet again service was mediocre. Food was terrible! Ordered chicken Chesapeake, bun was rock hard, tomato was the same with hard center core, chicken breast was tiny and couldn’t accommodate the bun. Expressed to server that food wasn’t satisfactory and she… couldn’t care less and couldn’t even send a manager to bar seat. Paid tab and left and went to buds at silver run for dinner. Thank u Maryland mallet for allowing us to find a great meal due to your negligence. Will not be returning

We celebrated my daughters 21st birthday with a large group of her friends from college . Each and everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and cocktails .the service was over the top superb!!! Love this place ..will definitely return...we haven't been able to visit her much during the school year because of the pandemic restrictions at the college ..

As a Maryland native now living in NYC, this restaurant was so special to go to while visiting home. I hadn’t eaten good Maryland crabs in years, but it all came right back to me, and I got to teach my husband how to properly eat crabs. The staff was so nice and visited our table often even though it was a busy night. The vibe of the restaurant was very welcoming and laid back. I hope to come back next time I come home.
