I am giving this restaurant a four star as the waiter was amazing as was the waitress. They made our meal enjoyable in spite of the issues had. I do want to point out that it would be safer if management wore masks as well. I was looking so forward to this place given the reviews to find all food laced heavily with old bay spice :(

Hubby & I decided to visit this place again. Our second time here & it's well worth the trip (from Dundalk, Md.). The food is delicious!! The staff are always welcoming the customers with a smile. Manager comes around to introduce himself and make sure we are well taken care of...and we were. This is definitely a cozy spot to check out...you won't be disappointed.

The menu was freshly different and enticing. And the food preparation followed through. Our dishes were beautifully and carefully prepared and perfectly flavored. The service was outstanding. We were visiting McDaniel College where my husband went and Medford where he lived as a child. We stumbled across Rocksalt Grill. What a find! We ate two lunches and one dinner there before returning home.

Stopped in for lunch last week with my Dad, my first time here. I had cream of crab soup and the Rocksalt burger and Dad had Maryland crab soup and the crab cake. Both were great and we will be back when in the area. Nicely decorated for Christmas, nice bar/restaurant atmosphere with an outdoor patio in the warmer weather. If you are nearby and are hungry, it's worth it!

Good restaurant, parking available in the rear, kid friendly, waitress are amazing!, food was pricy, depending on what you order, I ordered 3 steaks with crabs cake , Mac and cheese and greens ( see picture). 174.00 + 30.00 tips 204.00. , I recommend to exclude items over 30.00 from menu, I don't think I will come back to this place.

Felt it was time to post an update since I've been here more than a few times since my fist. RackSalt is extremely popular in the town of Westminster-it's one of a few non-chain popular restaurants here. And the food has made a name for itself. So it's always jam packed. Don't bother looking for reservations on Open Table--this is a first time first serve joint (put your name on a waiting list and wait!) My husband and I just enjoyed the most perfect celebratory dinner ever.
From the entrees to our waitress Katie it was great.
After sharing some of my husband's perfect steak, I was full and packed most of my Salmon in a go box for dinner tomorrow. Looking forward to dinner tomorrow night!
After leaving, we took a short walk and circled back to our car. AMAZING TONY ( a manager?) who greeted us when we first went in, was in the parking lot with our go box of salmon- we couldn't believe it!! We'd have been so sad to realize later this evening we had forgotten it at our table.

It was very crowded for a Tuesday at lunch time. Rolls were barely warm, which, for some people we like really warm/hot rolls. Asked for warmer rolls. Waitress very nice & accommodating. Also! They serve rolls with a sickening sweet honey butter! Kind of like Texas Roadhouse, but with a ton more honey. I guess a lot of people like that? We prefer regular butter. Unbelievable!!! I found this restaurant thru Yelp. Lovely menu and food was good, however, one dish...the Pecan crusted Tilapia was overcooked, soaked with grease and just not good. We sent it back...manager was rude and told us oh you just didn't like what you ordered. Nooo...it tasted bad. Then she couldn't handle the heat and sent out the head chef. He then went into food prices are so high and the crab you ate was at least $4 or $5 so we can adjust your bill for 1/2 off the dish...now they are just letting us wait to give us the bill. I guess post-COVID the customer is not always

I can not say enough about this restaurant, Not 1 complaint!!! It was CLEAN, Nice Atmosphere, the servers were EXCELLENT! So detailed about the specials and the menu all together, very efficient and the Food was DELICIOUS!!! BEST CRABCAKES I HAVE EVER HAD! My Husband had the Maple Bacon Salmon, OMG I tasted it and was DELICIOUS as well!

Cannot say enough about this place. While visiting my brother, he knows I try to get My seafood fix when heading to the east coast. He had heard rave reviews so we decided to try. It did not disappoint. It’s on the smaller size but the atmosphere, food, service all were extraordinary. It gets crowded even very early so plan accordingly.
I tried the charm city seafood which was a dish of shrimp, sea scallops and crab meat in a cream based sauce laced with Old Bay…served over rice. Wonderful dish! My brother had the crab cake which was huge and very yummy.

1. I ordered a medium rare steak but got something closer to medium-well. I sent it back and eventually got a medium rare steak from the kitchen but it took so long others in my party had finished their dishes.
2. Waitress did not ask if we wanted drink refills.
These aren't fatal flaws, but are the reason for the rating. Also, watch out for market priced menu items. A whopping $58 for a single entree of a crab cake and small piece of steak.

My wife and I stopped in on our way through town. I can not say enough good things about this place. Every employee was extremely friendly as we walked in. I have not had better service anywhere. Our server, Sam, was super outgoing, very attentive, and informative. He absolutely made our day. The food and drinks were also delicious and exactly what we wanted. Will definitely be returning.

What made this place even more amazing was the customer service. The server was very attentive and kind, but most of all, when my uncle lost his phone but didn't realize it until after being home, much further away... I couldn't believe the level of service we were provided.

If you love crab cakes, these are to die for. My husband and I drive down 45 mins for the hearty soup and crab cakes. I am short of words describing the crab cakes to begin with:
1. The crab cakes are broiled and it stays succulent.
2. Not a lot of fillers but just pure crab meat
3. Flavor profile and spice levels are perfect
4. The taste is consistent each time we have ordered.
I'm sure there are other things on the menu that are yummy but for us, every order has to include crab cakes and a bowl of cream of crab.

Omg yum. Tucked into the unassuming main streets of downtown westminster is this amazing restaurant. Arrived and were greeted by a bubbly host and friendly manager who seated us quickly.
Brought a round of waters while we browsed the menu. Placed our order and were treated to biscuits and homemade cinnamon butter while we waited.
Decided on the Eastern Shore Chicken Wrap and fries for myself. Holy crap, so good - fried chicken strips, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and old bay ranch wrap up in a warm tortilla. Was so so good. The chicken was crispy and so is bacon and the old Bay

Ok Yelp. I'm glad I listened to your reviews. This place food was Outstanding! I placed my order on line for curbside pickup. I'm not sure if they are doing inside dining during this Covid time. Heck I haven't eaten inside a restaurant since this Pandemic. I have done outside patio dining a few times. Definitely do alot of carryout and curbside delivery. Everything was very enjoyable. I mean everything! Nice quantity. It wasn't a long wait. You pull up to a number in the back of the restaurant. Let them know what it is and they deliver to your car. Super fantastic restaurant in downtown Westminister. We arrived in a Friday night at approximately 8:45 and the place was jam packed. We were quickly seated in the bar area and had a fabulous server who was a good mix of chatty and very responsive. I wish I recalled his name to give him credit.
My favorite item we ordered was a bowl of half Maryland crab soup and half crab bisque. So so so yummy. Much better than other places I've tried.
The portions are big and tasty. I like this place ALOT!
