We'd love to welcome you to Ocean Odyssey, please know that we are a no-reservations restaurant, we simply seat upon arrival. House in Crocheron, MD and operated as a processor & wholesaler of all things seafood including Crabs, Oysters, Fish and Clams that could be caught & harvested from the Chesapeake Bay. After years of growing up in the business, their son & our Founder, Roy Todd along with his wife Barbara, decided they'd have a crack at the restaurant business and decided to purchase this building back in 1986.
The newly renovated Crab "Pickin' Room" is now available for private parties for up to 50 guests. For over 3 decades, our founder Roy Todd ran a blue crab processing operation in this room. Upon his retirement, we have decided to pay homage to our crab-picking heritage by renovating and opening this room to you, our guests.
Oyster Bay - Marlborough, New Zealand - true character of Marlborough, concentrated aromas and flavors of ripe citrus and stonefruit, balanced w/ subtle oak. Bollicini Sparkling Cuvee, Italy - vibrant, spritzy, fruity, herbal aromas and flavors of oregano, buttery herb muffin, and dried quince.

We dined on 09/05/2021 it started off a little rocky. My wife and I were seated and told someone would be right with us. At that time there was only about 5 to 6 tables/customers. After about 10 minutes nobody had come to wait on us mean while there were at least 4 employees walking right by us so finally I asked the employee that seated us does our server know that we are here. As I said that she was approaching what turned out to be our server to let her know that we were her table. Our server had actually walked by us many times but didn’t know that we were her customers. Wanted to try the crab cakes here but they ran out without telling us until an hour+ later when the food was ready. The placed was so backed up that they refused most for seat or take out.
Finally got some obay crabs but it was over seasoned + salt to the extreme. The shrimp was fresh, but was under season. The softshell crab sandwich was OK.
All in all, it was the only close place to Hyatt Regency Chesapeake so was a captive audience and maybe that's why the ratings were good. Not that good in service or food for me.

Consistently delicious! Everyone who serves is wonderful and caring. They always strive to make sure you are taken care of and happy. The food is delicious and creative! Not only do they have seafood but some other options for those who may not eat seafood. One of our favorite places in Cambridge, MD!

Our favorite crab of our trip. Great ambiance - the back room had more of a beach bar vibe that we enjoyed - & had better air circulation. We were initially sat in the traditional dining room, which was fine. But with Covid cases on the raise, we asked to move to the back bar - which we preferred. The drink offerings were straight-forward - nothing to write home about, but satisfying - good descriptions of the beers.

We arrived at approximately 5 pm. Our order was not taken until 5:15 or so. We ordered an appetizer of oysters and for dinner crabs, burger and tacos with chicken instead of fish. There was a 12 minute back and forth discussion of how it would take 30 minutes to put chicken in the tacos rather than fish 🤔. Apparently they had all new cooks that were being trained. After 30 minutes, we asked about our appetizers and the crabs which we were told wouldn't take very long. We got no answer. By 6:15 I found another server and asked if she could help us. She came back about 5 minutes later and said

This is my second time visiting Ocean Odyssey. The first time was 5 years ago and the crabs were great. This time we ordered half dozen of large crabs and they were bland. Although they were seasoned on the outside there was no crab flavor! The crabs color was off and they were dry on the inside. It tasted like the crabs were roasted and not steamed. The oysters and fries were good. Amy provided us with great service. Although I wasn't happy with the crabs I will def come back for the oysters. They also have a nice outdoor sitting area.
