Services
This section provides you with a wide variety of information regarding the services of our funeral home, throughout Stamford, CT, that are available at Nicholas F Cognetta Funeral Home. Our funeral directors will help you create a ceremony that is meaningful and fully affordable for you and your family.
We take great pride in providing quality service in an environment that supports your family and wishes of your loved one. We take great pride in the functionality and appearance of our facility, and are constantly updating and improving our premises and equipment to meet the highest professional standards.
All of our licensed directors adhere to the highest standard of ethical practices and are dedicated to meeting your every need. We are proud to have them on our staff.
When you suffer a loss of a loved one, everyone comes together to mourn the death and share the many memories you've gathered throughout the years. Because food is a form of comfort, you'd sit at the kitchen or dining room table to share with others. Knowing this, Mrs. Cognetta began baking cakes for each family she and her husband served in Stamford since opening their doors in 1953.
Thank you all so very much for helping us and making us feel comforted in Matthew's passing. We can not express enough our appreciation and gratitude in all the extra special touches you have done. Thank you again for all you did for my family. You and your staff went above and beyond. My brothers said they felt like we were at a relatives house and working with a family member.

Compassionate & caring from first phone call. It was pleasure dealing with Lee and Jackie. Flexible, understanding & patient.
We were treated with dignity and respect and they were always available to answer any questions. Thank you again.

Where do I begin… Cognetta funeral home has always been a special place for my family. My mother was very dear friends with Nick the founder .... I lost my mother when I was eight years old and I remember with them treating my family so wonderfully. They even took great care of my father 31 years ago! This past week I had to arrange another funeral for my mother in law. Lee could not have been more amazing! he made us feel like we were family and took all the worry away from this awful time in our lives.... truly something special about cognetta funeral home and would never go to anyone else

I contacted this place based on the reviews, but unfortunately my experience was not the same. From the initial call the lady who answered was too rude and since I took a while to speak she hung up on me. I wanted to give it a try and called again. Her demeanor was grossly rude and insensitive, especially for the kind of service this place provides. The only thing she focused on was telling me the value of cremation and telling me that they would charge me extra for the body being too far away. No sympathy, no condolences, no personality, just a sales person wanting a commission (nothing wrong

This review is a bit overdue but when my father in law passed away over the summer it was completely unexpected. Another local funeral home treated us like garbage (which is shocking given the industry), we called the Cognetta family and they took care of us, making us feel like family. The whole process is so difficult and to have someone take care of everything you need is invaluable. I cannot express our gratitude for everything they did from rearranging our flowers to bringing umbrellas during the burial when it was pouring rain. Thank you so much for your kindness and empathy during our

I am so thankful for the amazing crew at Cognetta for all of their assistance with the funeral for my grandmother, Lily. Anthony coordinated everything absolutely perfectly and went above & beyond my expectations. He was so helpful, genuine & informative that he made the (what would be terrible) process, not so terrible. I highly recommend this team.

Cognetta Funeral Home provides a high quality service with dignity. Their facility is well equipped for the funeral process. I met with John Esposito and he behaved with the upmost respect. All the staff members were very nice. The facility has a gigantic parking lot to accommodate large gatherings. They also have the only crematory in Fairfield county.

I moved far away from Connecticut and I asked Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory to assist me in removing my father's body from the cemetery and doing a cremation. John Esposito was present during all phases of this journey. He coordinated

Absolutely the best funeral experience I've ever had. The staff is gracious, warm and thoughtful.
The Cognetta family created a beautiful living room across from where we met our guests at the wake --- complete with a loving DVD slide show of my dad's life set to music over the mantle. On our way out the door we were greeted with a homemade pound cake to have in the morning with coffee before their limousines came to take us to the church for the funeral. They are gentle, true professionals and displayed perfection in every detail.
