Since 2009, Dragon Martial Arts is the place to go in Torrance, California for martial arts instruction and after-school tutoring! We offer beginner through advanced classes for children, juniors, and adults since. Here you will find programs in the arts of Taekwondo, Hapkido, Aikido, and Olympic style sparring.
We have three convenient locations for students to receive martial arts instruction and two locations for children to receive our tutoring services. Dragon Martial Arts is a dream come true for Head Master Hojae Yong. He moved to the United States in 2002, with the hopes of achieving his American dream.

The teachers are both really good with the kids and they learn here! Awesome Tae Kwon Do dojo, parking can be hard to find and the dojo isn't BIG, but it shouldn't matter as long as the teachers are really good, the place is clean, and everyone here learns something all of the time they're here. My friend and I were looking for a martial arts studio that could accommodate our 5 (collective) children.
Dragon Martial Arts is based in Torrance, California. We are locally-owned and operated for over 8 years. We are governed by the USAT and Kukkiwon. USAT is the national governing body for the U.S. Olympic Committee and Kukkiwon is the official Taekwondo governing body. We have six (6) Masters on staff that are certified by the World Taekwondo Federation and Kukkiwon.

We consolidated to this location from a location closer to home and it is worth the drive. 2nd child started the program at 3yrs old. Friendly supportive environment. All the other students are great. If you think about 2-3 times a week over what you pay per month it’s a bargain. They really teach and not just pass students because it’s time.

I needed to find after school care for my son immediately after moving to Torrance, and I'm so grateful that we found Dragon Martial Arts! Not only did the tutoring center provide him with the guidance and structure he needed to keep up his skills in school, but they provided structure and discipline through taekwondo classes as well. He absolutely thrived with DMA and their instructors. We are very excited to get back to class soon, now that the pandemic is ending. The instructors have the perfect combination of discipline and compassion to support any child! I highly recommend DMA!

My son has been taking classes her for the past 3 months. He loves going to class and looks forward to it every time. He has made huge strides in his discipline, focus, and motor skills.
We feel comfortable with their safety protocols. Classes are outdoors, everyone is spaced out, everyone wears masks, and everyone has their temperature checked.

We have been attending for 8 months. We have a boy and a girl. We had tried another place but did not think they were willing to work with our son who has some learning, executive fxn issues. They are really patient and supportive. All the masters are superb. We attended a belt ceremony, picnic where they did demonstrations. It was amazing, it was like watching Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon! It was reassuring to see how highly trained all those people teaching my kiddos. I haven't had any issues with the costs there are different options and we chose to to black belt club as it seems more

My kids been attending for the last two years. They tried out other martial arts in surrounding location including rolling hills, but seen to like it here. The masters are dedicated to teaching discipline and self esteem. We are very happy with the positive teaching. We have also used the tutor center as well for after school program and very pleased with it as well. We highly recommend it!!!

My kids were involved with Dragon Martial Arts for years. They have been nothing but great in terms of a child program. But when my daughter received her black belt the monthly payment was so high that we had to leave. I tried to discuss money with Grandmaster Yong but my emails and messages were not returned. We went to a different Taekwondo because we saved $290 a month per child. This was once a great program that we believed in and we put a lot of money in. But now it seems as if it's more about the money than it is about the kids. Thank you for so many great years for the Dragon Martial

If you are looking for some place where your bored kids need to run around, this is a great place to send them to. however, if you want some place more serious, this is a complete waste of time and money.
they take in so many kids that masters can't pay attention to each individual kids which is not the masters fault but how the owner runs his gym or BUSINESS.
this is more like zomba for kids where they just watch what masters are doing from the back row and try to follow on their own.

My sons (6 and 3) and I all attend Dragon Martial Arts several times a week for the past 6 months and it has been an incredible journey for our family. The masters have won our respect and adoration through their dedication and excellent teaching. Children's classes are high-spirited and fun-filled. The masters really know how to motivate the children, bond with them, help them learn at their pace and most importantly instill a love for the art in them. I'm constantly amazed by my children's progress in techniques and growing knowledge. We feel fortunate to have found this school

My children love this place! The TKD instructors and masters really try to work with the kids. My kids have problems focusing and standing still but the masters really work hard to instill discipline in our kids. Would recommend to all parents looking for a decent self-defense and martial arts program.

*****Fraud**** We had our kids go to this fraud place. After hearing some good feedback from a friend we thought it would be good for kids to learn discipline and be physically active. They will encourage you for 9 weeks $99 package and everything will look rosy and after a week or two , the marketing starts to enroll for a yearly package. I just attended my grandson Connor belt testing today. I have to say Master Park's dedication to teach these Boys and Girls is pretty amazing. Master Park's Constant encouragement to the Boys and Girls to do their best and too do what they were taught the right way and not let them just breeze by is A great quality in a teacher. And yet he still knows how to have fun with the students and is always laughing and having a good time. I believe it's a wonderful environment for the young boys and girls to learn the discipline of Tae kwon do and too grow and still have a good time doing

We started our son at Dragon Martial Arts when he was 4 years old. At that time, he had little attention span, and didn't take direction well.
The Masters and instructors are incredible! Not only do they teach a valuable skill, but they teach incredible life lessons about respect and discipline, in a firm yet loving, calm manner. They were so patient with my son. At 5-1/2 years old, he is now a blue belt, and absolutely loves taking the classes and keeps full attention the entire class. I truly believe that Dragon Martial Arts has had a huge impact in our sons life in so many positive ways

Definitely five stars for being a place kids love to be. Very good instructors that know how to motivate kids and make them work for their achievements. Things do get quite expensive after the initial promo though so you may want to find out about that one. Well worth it if the kid is really into it though.

Today [09/19/15] was H's Taekwondo promotion/yellow belt test at the Torrance PCH studio instead of the regular location.
I'm glad we came [20-mins.] early as there were probably close to 50 students getting their next belt (white - purple). As we walked in, I could see H's masters & masters from the other studios going through warm-ups to help the students prep for their test. In case they get nervous & forget? Whatever the reason, I thought it was beneficial to

Dragon Martial Arts is awesome. You get to train with talented Masters and Instructors, and are treated like family.
During classes there is always a lot of fun and laughter to be found, and at the end of the day you feel much better. Sometimes training is really tough; but when you get to see your progress week after week, it's all worth it. I've been to all of the studios, and they all have fantastic Masters and Instructors - so you should check them out. Highly recommend!
