The best BJJ studio in the South Bay! The environment is very welcoming and everyone is super friendly! My son and several of my friends children train regularly at golden state BJJ. I love that the dojo, the restroom and the changing area are always very clean. Most dojos have the smell of armpit or too much testosterone in the air but not this dojo.
I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to learn BJJ. There are black belts teaching the class, oppose to other dojos where the brown belts teach the class. I did my homework on all of the dojos in the South bay and none come close to golden state BJJ. All ages can train here and learn the art of jiu jitsu.

This program is designed to meet all of the different goals that our students might have. Whether it be weight loss, confidence, competition or just a healthy hobby, this program will assist in reaching the goals that our students have set forth. We believe in being well rounded when it comes to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so we incorporate techniques from Judo and wrestling that will improve the students Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great activity for kids that provides an endless amount of value and lessons that children can carry with them on and off the mat. In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, no child sits out. Every child is progressing at their own pace and reaching their goals through individual efforts while being in a team environment.

Professor Dane, Mike, and Zach gave all three of my kids the best experience as first timers. Unfortunately, they didn't get to stay long before we moved, but each Professor provided a positive environment for my kids and instilled a love for hard work and grit. They looked forward to BJJ every week! Thank you, Professors for your dedication and your example for our children. It really is making a worthy impact on the future generation of the South Bay.

First impression of the professors/space: great and clean! Spoke with Professor Dane to schedule a free trial class for my girls and he was courteous, informative and helpful over the phone. The trial class went great and my girls really enjoyed it so we ended up registering them today! All three of the instructors were engaging and helpful with the kids in the class. I am looking forward to having my girls learn a lot about bjj in the years to come!

Golden State BJJ is a phenomenal place to start and take part in your jiu jitsu journey. The instructors are top notch, with great detail, care and are extremely friendly.

My daughter's enjoy the classes while learning discipline and building up their self confidence. The coaches are wonderful at motivating the kids to work hard and build up their physical and mental strength. We dropped are local studio for GS Bjj and was a great decision. Highly recommend this place and I'm ecstatics this business is surviving the State of Cali. self induced economic destruction.

Golden State BJJ is an Awesome place to train. The atmosphere is friendly, and conducive to learning. Professors Dane and Mike are true professionals and make learning simple. Mike and Dane are awesome and very knowledgeable! I've visited most of the BJJ clubs in the area and decided to go with them because of the awesome people that train there who are very supportive of each other no matter what level you're training at. I've visited most of the clubs in the area and felt like their club had the best facility and is one of the few places that start standing and actively practice take downs. Been training 4 years and this was the easiest drop in I've ever done.
Instruction was great, mats were nice and clean, everyone was friendly.
In my experience drop in students can be left alone, but the instructor took the time to learn our names and give us the class structure.
Will definitely come back when we're around LA again.

Mike and Dane are great with kids and the facility is clean and well run.
They do a great job of keeping the students engaged and feeling like they're making progress.
Parking is a little tight due to the McDonald's next door. But if you look around the corners of the building, then you can usually find a close spot.

I always thought of BJJ gyms as hyper-masculine and off setting, in other words, not very welcoming. Especially for beginners, dudes wanna beat up on you, will ignore you, and treat you like the little person. Despite of previous interactions with other gyms in the South Bay, Golden State BJJ changed my mind. The gym is a laid back - and serious - training ground for beginners and advance BJJ enthusiasts. Professor Dane and Mike welcomed me into the gym, made introductions to other members and consistently come around to check on me to make sure I am understanding what is being taught.

If you're thinking of sending your kids or learning Jiu-Jitsu yourself, this is the place! Prof Mike and Prof Dane are awesome! Their knowledge, professionalism, care, kindness and patience are amazing! Kids learn more than just technique. They learn respect, discipline, kindness and friendship. My advice is, if you're thinking about training, go in and watch a class and see for yourself.

Dane and Mike welcomed me and made me feel comfortable from day one of starting BJJ.
Students are very welcoming and helpful in training.
Spacious enough to have room even with a large class, and also stays clean.

Its tough for me to find the right words to express how highly I recommend GSBJJ. Mike and Dane are extremely personable, professional, and knowledgeable. Everyone here knows each other by name and are welcoming and helpful. There aren't any egos in the gym. Golden State has assembled a fun family environment in both the kids and adult classes. Me, my cousin, my niece, and nephew attend and love it. Overall, this experience has been life changing. Don't hesitate to come in for the introductory classes. See for yourself.

Awesome jujitsu school in the South Bay. My buddy invited me to roll one Saturday and I was happy to pop in. The layout was great. In the back room we're two changing rooms and a bathroom. The people were awesome and very friendly. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. Professor Dane led the warm ups which consisted of the usual martial arts sequence: running, shuffling, cariocas, and a variety of movement drills. Coming from a Gracie school with a more low key warmup, I was happy to be sweating by the time it was over 20min later.

I can’t say enough good things about Professors Dane and Mike, and the gym they run together. The location is simple, clean and conducive to learning. Both instructors aren’t just first-class BJJ practitioners, they’re first-class people. Simply put; you’d be hard-pressed to find a better place to train.

Facility is very well maintained and clean and had no issues with Parking.
Instructors Dane and Mike were very hospitable and welcoming.
The classes are very structured with your 30m warm up, 30m instructional drilling, & 30m light sparring or hard if you're young and don't know any better! :)
The instruction its self was pretty detailed. focusing on technicality and precision. Dane and Mike make a good team and seem to have a pretty good grasp of everyone in class.
The facility gets pretty warm & humid with little oxygen but

I dropped in here today for the Saturday class as my current Professor is friends with the Professors that run this school and I have a friend who goes here as well.
I had a great time!

Hands down, Golden State is run by the BEST BJJ instructors you'll ever have and I'm so happy to see that they opened up this new place! I've known them for a couple years now and because of them I don't think I can ever leave LA (ugh!).. Even while moving around the country and actively training at up to 4 different schools, I ALWAYS found myself thinking about Dane and Mike.
Wherever Dane and Mike go, they set up an amazing environment everyone can train hard and safely in, whether its your first day or 1000th day! Their classes are always fun, the people who go here are
