It's the first time I've been to Angara, being drawn in by their offering chilli paneer & gobi manchurian, both of which were OK (if a little heavy on the onions).

The entrees we ordered were, however, awful! The medium paneer tikka masala consisted of paneer chunks with what tasted exactly like Campbell's tomato soup poured over them. No spice, no flavor and nothing like any tikka masala I've ever eaten! Worse, the baigan bharta had an acrid, burned rubber smell and after a tiny taste found its way immediately into the trash.

Having been a customer here for many years, I've noticed within the last year there has been a drastic change in the quality of food, as some other reviewers have mentioned. One example, Tikka Masala used to be milky orange color with a creamy, refined taste. Now, it is way, way too sweet, the sweetness overpowering any other taste or aroma. This place used to be amazing years ago, I'd go weekly. Now it's garbage! Such a bummer.

I rarely give reviews that are bad but this food was Not Good At All! I paid $39 for basmati rice which was totally flavorless, Paneer Masala which tasted sweet and tomato like Yuk! The lady taking my order asked me

After spending $43+ on rice, chicken tikka masala that tasted like someone dumped a can of Campbell's soup over Costco canned chicken and then added a pound of sugar, and chicken coconut curry that tasted like dirty dishwater with floating chunks of the same Costco canned chicken, and then having to throw away every single scrap of it due to it's total inedibility, we will never ever EVER order food from or eat here again. Any Indian would be mortified to see how they've butchered the cuisine, and $43+ for two dishes of slop and some rice -- none of which we could eat after

Peas pulav was flavourful and subtle

Ordered the dal tadka , bhaingan barta , vegetable soup, Gobi Manchurian and garlic naan
- Bhaingan barta was too burnt
-Gobi Manchurian tasted more like chilly gobi . ( No flavour at all )
- Dal tadka did not have any flavour
- Garlic naan was the only better item

Tried the buffet the last time we were here but being very wimpy when it comes to spicy/heat foods it wasn't for me. This time we ordered off the regular menu. Had the Mixed Tandoori, Mango Ribs, Butter Chicken, Samosas, Garlic Naan, and Onion Kulcha. Basmati rice came on the side. I guess its ok if you don't have a car to drive to a better Indian buffet, sorry. I normally go to India's Tandoori (Manhattan bch) or Bombay Tandoori down Pch. Today I decided to check out this buffet cause it had 4 stars and was in the vicinity where I live. Was pretty bummed to see pans filled with mostly sauce and hardly any ingredients at 1:15pm. It looked like all the ingredients were scooped up and only sauce was left behind?? I like to give small establishment my business but they had no food to entice me on their buffet!

I enjoyed this food so much. There really aren't words to describe how happy I am that I found this place, and I write poetry lol. So that's saying a lot.

We haven't been back since Covid. We just went today and to our surprise the buffet is up and running! It was so delicious! Everything was fresh and so flavorful! We couldn't stop eating the chicken masala and the rice and the naan bread and the paneer, well you can guess, we loved it all! Thank you for such a great lunch! The staff was so friendly! We will definitely go back again. We also love the coconut curry shrimp! It's a little spicy but so delicious!

My favorite Indian restaurant around! The staff is so friendly and helpful. They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. I used to go to the buffet pre COVID, but now I get delivery and pick up and it's just as good. They have the best pakora and samosas I've ever had too!

The bhindi masala, which was what I searched for to find the restaurant, was very tasty. Garlic Naan was buttery but thicker/ less flaky. That being said, the biryani was uninspired, literally just rice spices and a handful of shrimp, and the goat dish had a bit of the aftertaste you get when you don't soak the meat in salt water/ washed with vinegar before cooking.

Really great service, fast and efficient with nice workers. Food was just flavorless, we got something spicy and it had no flavor beyond just being spicy and the non-spicy dish had no flavor at all.

I really love the homey vibe and very warm, welcoming atmosphere.

I ordered Butter Chicken. It was a perfect balance of sweet, salty and very creamy and smooth like silk. The Spice level is just right, but I do like spicy. The Garlic Naan was very tasty, one of the best I've had. It's perfect to soak up the creamy Butter Chicken sauce.

I'm definitely coming back soon for more.

My wife and I met there for lunch today. It was our first meal out since the pandemic began and it was just what the doctor ordered. The chicken Tikka Masala and butter chicken are delicious! A couple sides of rice, garlic Naan, and a Taj Mahal beer rounded out the meal nicely. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Ordered chicken biryani, they called back saying out of chicken, got lamb no up charge. Naan was great, biryani was flavorful but very lacking in meat. Barely enough lamb to feed one person.

I have eaten at Angara for years. The shrimp coconut curry (medium) with saffron rice has been my family go to. Add a bottle of Old Monk and this meal can not be beat.

Don't really understand why they've recently gotten bad reviews because the food is always so amazing. We did dine-in so everything was fresh and we were all very happy with the food. We ordered chicken tikki masala, chicken tandoori, garlic and plain naan, and some basmati rice. Still the best tikki masala I've ever had and the garlic naan is top tier.

Please visit and have their food for dine-in because they will not disappoint.

I had better authentic Indian food in Dayton, Oh. The chicken tikka masala was $13 and tasted like some sugary tomato soup and didn't even come with rice. Not to mention had literally 5 pieces of chicken. Seriously had to throw it away. The vegetable pakora was only onion and seasoned like fries ???? Such a huge disappointment. The search for authentic Indian food continues.

Update: Called to request a refund for the vegetable pakora and chicken tikka masala and the restaurant refunded those items. I won't be ordering here again but I will add a star for the restaurant

We saw someone eating Indian food on TV this morning and that made us want to get it for lunch. Our usual go-to place didn't seem to be open so we chose Angara. We had been there a couple of times for dine-in before the lockdown, so we had high hopes.

We placed an order on Yelp and my husband went to pick it up. On the Yelp app, we noted on each of the curry dishes that we would like "medium" level spiciness but clearly they didn't read the instructions.

It's been a long week & I was in no mood to cook. My first thought was "what was I craving?" And aloo gobi & samosas popped in my mind. I really loved the flaky samosas at the Indian restaurant in Rolling Hills Plaza but didn't want to make the drive. Then I recalled Angara Indian Restaurant was just steps away, not exactly, but super close & walkable. I've driven by the restaurant many times but have yet to go in.

Stopped by for lunch buffet. Food is decent, very quick restock with empty dishes. one suggestion: Nan bread could be Table Service. So, it will be toasty to pair with main dish. Otherwise, its a big soggy.
