My husband and I love the food here! He likes the chicken masala and I love the bartha. We build from there. They have some lovely lamb dishes. Most times every dish is prepared perfectly. We also enjoy wine and they have a serious selection of high end ones. This place is hard to beat for Indian food.

Best Indian on the west side and I've tried most of them. Shrimp curry was to die for as was lamb curry. Lamb chops appetizer also beautiful. They also serve a pretty decent IPA. In the can but I haven't found another Indian place that will offer me an IPA which for me pairs great with Indian food. Could be in my head. One thing to keep an eye on is the spiciness scale. My brother and I both ordered a three and mine was super spicy which works for me but his was pretty mild. Waiter said it had something to do with the cream in the sauce my brother got but I would think they would account

The food here is unbelievably good! I tried the chicken tiki Marsala tonight and it was the best I've ever had! Seriously it had a smoked quality that put it over the top - never had a dish this good!!! And the cheese Nan bread is heaven! You have to try it. This place is gonna be my latest addiction

Took a group of close friends there last night. Akbar has been my go to Indian spot for years. Cannot recommend it more highly. J. C. did the consummate job with the service and everyone was more than pleased. We'll be back soon!

Had a dinner date here. Don't let the outside appearance deter you. This is the best meal I've ever eaten. Fresh, clean , flavorful. The main guy is so knowledgeable. I've found my spot for Indian food.

Hard to believe some of the (negative) reviews on here? Stopped by on a Friday evening to avoid/delay the heavy commute traffic to San Diego and couldn't have been more delighted with our good fortune. Exceptional Indian fare (especially the appetizers!), mains and even the desserts - mango cheesecake anyone! Add in the engaging, friendly service and you have all the ingredients (pun intended!) for the perfect meal ... Would give 5+ * if I could - only downside is that we live too far away to be regular customers ... Many thanks JC for the great food and evening.

Enjoyed food here in their sweet patio. Saag paneer was really good and actually for the first time here in LA I liked naan and especially their tandoori roti!!! It was really nicely cooked and just perfect for me!
I hope i can get the exact same roti whenever we revisit them! My husband also loved their naan and tandoori roti and pulao was good too. So overall was a good experience and ya do try their mango lassi! It was really yum and refreshing.

Horrible customer service! I think it was the manager who attended to us, and I must say I have never had this kind of service. He was busy talking to couple of his friends the whole time. He forgot to bring my coffee, the order we placed requested spicy level 3 but it ended up being more like 5-6. The food didn't end up tasting good because of how spicy it was. I am never coming back to this place again.

I ordered the Tikka Massala and the Chicken Tikka and I must say it was some of the best tasting Indian food I've ever had. I received $10 off of my order over $40 coupon on their site I will be returning

Regular spot for my family for years. It was closed for some time, not sure if there was a change of ownership. Was craving a curry, saw it was open and decided to order for pickup. Was ready very quickly and good deals for lunch. I love the BOGO and discounts for ordering online. Looked like the same menu as I remember. It's still great. I really enjoyed my lunch. Everything was flavorful, clean and fresh. Good quality and very tasty. Beware as the chutneys are very spicy, so tread lightly if you don't like or can't handle the spice.

This indian restaurant is one of the best. Their chicken tikka masala is to die for! You can choose your spice level. I choose extra spicy & it was the perfect spice level. The cheese naan is amazing! I ordered online directly from their website :) I highly recommend.

If you like Indian Cuisine and you live on the Westside, this is the place to go. It has been in Marina Del Rey for over 20 years. The dishes that stand out are the Ginger Lamb, the Sea Bass, and the Garlic Shrimp. The sauces can be spicy so be careful. The best sauce is the mint flavor one. You can't go wrong eating here.

We ordered the following for pickup tonight: Spicy Chicken Wings; Samosas; Lamb Biryani; Chicken Tikka Masala. All of it was incredible!! We also received several little containers of sauces, such as mint chutney and tamarind chutney ($2 for that one).

The spiciest dish was the chicken wings, but so amazing with Indian spices. We ate some plain Greek yogurt along with it to tone down the heat.

The lamb in the Biryani was incredibly tender, and the Chicken Tikka Masala was very flavorful with spices.

Incredible Indain food that is super authentic. You can tell because they don't pour pounds of sugar into everything. The flavors are rich, deep, delicious and the prices are on point. I love the 3 chutneys that they provided: mint, coconut (so good!) and the chickpea one had some heat to it, which I loved.

We ordered the Bengan Bhartha, Chicken Akbari, naan and rice. This meal probably could've fed 3 people, but it was so good we couldn't stop eating it. Regret not ordering the Samosa, but next time.

I decided to try Akbar's for the cheese Nan! It was hot & delicious but the Garlic shrimp was too oily & spicy ! I couldn't eat it!

The Marina del Rey location is our favorite! Food, wine & service is the best here! Tandoori Chilean Sea Bass is a must and Garlic Cheese Naan...omg!

Have been going to Akbar for over 20 years .. The lamb shops and sea bass are to die for .. No wonder I keep going at least once a month .. yeah 12 times a year !!! Amazing food and wines .

The service was wonderful. our guy went through the menu, with us, decided on a selection, then brought out more than we ordered. he made us feel like we were guests in his home. after we had eaten he sat with us a while. it was more than a meal,it was an adventure!
