Services
Kelly Burdette is a VMRCVM graduate of 1992 and opened Town & Country Veterinary Clinic the summer after graduation. She is the sole owner of the clinic. The clinic has grown over the past 25 years from a one-doctor practice with 2 employees to a 10-doctor, 24-hour, full-service veterinary hospital that now employs over 70 staff members.
Town and Country Veterinary Clinic strives to give back to the community through various outreach activities. With our centralized location, we are convenient to families in the New River Valley and many surrounding areas. Listed below are some of the ways we support our community. Having adopted out 160+ kittens in 2015, this program is a vital part of assisting in decreasing stray/feral cats and finding new kittens their forever homes.
At Town & Country Veterinary Clinic, we understand that a pet emergency can be a frightening time for pet owners. Our emergency services are a caring extension of your family or referral veterinarian. Our veterinarians have a special interest in emergency medicine and will ensure that your pet receives the highest quality of appropriate and necessary medical treatment.
Town and Country Veterinary Clinic offers a wide range of surgical procedures for your pet. Equipped with two surgery rooms, we are able to accommodate both routine and emergency surgery 24 hours a day. We are equipped and staffed to handle procedures such as routine spays and neuters to emergency GDV (Bloat) surgeries.
Your pet's health is the most important part of what we do at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic. In order to ensure that your pet is healthy, we recommend that all pets come into our animal hospital for a complete physical check-up at least once a year. Any diagnostics that are deemed necessary after the physical examination, including wellness lab work.

We live almost 2 hours away from here. . Dec 31st our vet could not get our girl in they referred us to here. Because she could not walk and was very sick. called and spoke with someone who told us location and we hopped in car and took off. From the time we got there we was treated with care and respect. Our dog was treated with tenderness. We went over options and had the best Dr for her. We asked questions and Dr Sara answered them we did blood work and found out our girl had Lyme disease. So with fluids there and took her home with antibiotics. Over 12 hrs later she is walking and doing better

We had to wait 6 hours and paid $600 to have our dog receive an x-ray and be sent home with some anti-biotics. They admitted they did nothing for the first 3-4 hours she was there while I had to wait in my car in the parking lot. In the morning our dog had worsened terribly and we rushed her back. She is now in intensive care and we are looking at thousands to maybe be able to save her. I feel they are incredibly under staffed for the money. We have tried to call multiple times to find out what is happening and the receptionist either never answers the phone or has said she will find out information

The staff is amazing! They showed such compassion, caring, and understanding today when our doberman passed away. They were supportive every step of the way. We were lost and didn't know what to do and they walked us through it with strength and courage. You are the most wonderful people and we really appreciate everything you did for us and our sweet dog Baron. Thank you!

This is one of the best and most affordable vets we have been to. My wife and I have two dogs and we have always been able to rely on Town & Country Veterinary Clinic to schedule an appointment in a reasonable amount of time and to take care of them. Our first dog had to get surgery here and the technicians performed a great job. She has recovered very well from the procedure. We took our second dog to get her puppy shots and spay here, and the vet did a great job in addition to providing us with all of the information we needed to take care of her.
