At a time when most visitations and funerals were held in the family home, this began a century of "Service to All" which was Arthur's motivating principle and has been the family's legacy ever since. In 1925, the funeral home was moved to 111 Mann Avenue and in 1949 to its present location at 216 Columbia Street.
If you are planning a funeral, you have many decisions to make. You may feel overwhelmed or confused. You may have questions. Choose a funeral home with which you feel comfortable. You and the funeral director will have an arrangement conference. This could be done at the funeral home, your home or, in some instances, over the telephone.
Stay on 787 past all of the Troy exits-DO NOT TAKE THE BENNINGTON, VT. EXIT. Turn left at THIRD set of traffic lights (Bridge Ave.) Go up over the railroad tracks. Bear left onto Columbia Street. Go straight, under trestle, pass James St., Bevan St., West End Park on your right and two more blocks you will see DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on your left.
No matter if a death is sudden, or if it something that was a long time coming, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the loss of a loved one. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering.
