Riverview Funeral Home benefits from a long and rich family tradition dating back to 1897, when Noah Loujer Fonda, a well-known undertaker, established the N.L. Fonda Funeral Home at 837 River Street in Troy.
This has been the most popular type of funeral service in our American culture for over 100 years. Probably because studies and experience have shown that the traditional funeral service often allows for both healing and closure during the grieving process. While a funeral can be a time of sadness, it can also be an opportunity to honor a life well-lived.
By Definition: Cremation is a process in which intense heat and flame is used to transform the body back to its basic elements. The body, enclosed in a container approved for cremation, is placed in a cremation chamber. The soft tissue is vaporized. What remains is not ashes, but bone fragments weighing from seven to nine pounds on average.
Whether a death is sudden or expected, the loss of a loved one is indescribable. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering. I can't say enough positive things about Riverview Funeral and Nick in particular.
No one wants to need these services.
However, Nick and staff were so helpful and compassionate. Extremely knowledgeable.
And the service itself was well thought out and proceeded without any trouble.

I had to make arrangements from NJ by phone and fax. Roy was incredible. he answered all of my calls and questions considerately and gave me complete confidence. he is a true gentleman.even through my grief when the time came to collect my brother's remains I looked forward to meeting him. Roy, I cannot thank you enough for making a very difficult task so effortless.

Nick was wonderful to work with. He handled everything I needed with compassion and kindness. I can’t imagine having a smoother and easier time with such a difficult situation. He never tried to sell more than I wanted and pricing was very reasonable. I highly recommend working with Nick and Riverview.

I cannot say enough about Nick and Riverview. When my mother passed unexpectedly I called around and was shocked at how little compassion other homes had. Like she was just a number. Not a mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. Nick was considerate, caring, and kind. He walked me through the funeral process and handled her Veteran memorial months later as well. I am so thankful for their compassion and professionalism.

I can’t thank Nicholas enough for how comfortable and easy he made this for me. I came in a couple of weeks prior to my daughters father passing away to make arrangements, at that time I was so confused and In so much pain for what was about to happen. Nick was so kind to me and explained everything and the price was very affordable as well! I had lost my son in January. I was 5 months pregnant. I had a miscarriage. Hospital gave me a list of funeral homes I saw Riverview Funeral Home on it. I decide to give them a call. I got so much info over the phone. Also got an appointment and went with my husband. Met the staff got so much respect and friendly service. I couldn't pick a better funeral home. They took care of my baby with great care. They have great communication and they help you in many ways. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Keep up the great job and service.
