International Preschool of Raleigh is excited to announce its partnership as the first preschool to become a member of Mornwind Education. International Preschool of Raleigh Beijing in its new 8,500 square foot building offers IPR's curriculum along with science, cooking, dance, outdoor activities, and Chinese culture classes.
I have been working with children for 30+ years. I have worked as a teacher in elementary, art, high school, and early childhood. As the School Age Director of Salvation Army in Raleigh, I was instrumental in the success of the REACH program which provides academic assistance to at-risk children.

As a liaison for at-risk youth, I designed after school programs, coached parents and scout troop leaders, provided travel and sports opportunities to students, in addition to teaching in the classroom.
Stories, art projects, music, and dance help us to introduce world cultures to the children. Partnership with IPR Beijing allows us to build a new global connection of cross-cultural learning. Students have the opportunity to collaborate in joint art, technology, and social projects broadening their awareness of diversity around the world.

Sent my kid to this school based on the recommendation of a friend. We lasted one year. I found this school to be much more interested in my kid meeting milestones than actually learning or enjoying themselves while they learn. My kid did not like it and didn't want to go every day and they were actually doing well. Teachers told me they put some kids in time out every day. Time out for a 2 yo is harmful. I also found it sad how many kids cried the entire first week of school and then again when they returned after winter break. It was hard to see.

Edit: Fast forward to 2018. Just to let the owners and other parents know, my child qualified for SSA-Math starting Kindergarten in a reputed public elementary school. Has never got grades less than 3-4 on his progress report. I read the recent reviews and learnt nothing has changed. Such a pity! Find a better place if you have loving and sensitive kids.
Old Review: I should have taken the other review here shared 2 years back seriously. Every word of it is true and I can write that after experiencing it myself. This is the worst school I have come across. The owner and the teacher running OMAN

This school was terrible for my child. He was new to the school and my child didn't feel welcome or treated like the other kids. His teachers put him in the back of the line often. For not remaining in line, he was put in time out and wet his pants because he was too scared to tell them he had to go to the bathroom. He regressed emotionally after being there.
They are very strict and regimen about their curriculum which leaves no room for love, compassion and communication...its all about completing assignments appropriately. They have very little recess/play time (25 min) only if they finish

My son has attended IPR for almost 3 yrs now and I can't stop raving about this place. This school, and that's exactly what it is and not a daycare, sets realistic expectations for parents in regards to their children and they follow through on those goals. Due to IPR my son has really gotten a boost academically and this wouldn't have happened without IPR and the staff's support. IPR is the best decision we made!

My son has been going to this school 5 days a week since he was 2 for 3 years. I wanted to send my child to a school where it was curriculum based versus play based like a daycare. The teachers are wonderful and they love their students like their own kids! My son is already reading and writing, and already know how to count past 100. They challenge the children but NOT overly where they feel overwhelmed. Best decision I've made about schooling for my child! My youngest one will start this August and I am pretty confident that he will get the same treatment as my older one did!

We had a pretty unpleasant experience having our son enrolled here. This was his third school experience and the only one that caused him anxiety. We found the communication cold and curt from the beginning and many of the school policies rubbed me wrong. For example, if you're literally one minute late, they'll charge you, but they're often anywhere from 2-5 minutes late in dismissing. They have a number of policies like that and they present it to you like, " this is what you're going to do and that's how it's going to be." We didn't have that experience anywhere else and it always bothered me

My daughter attended this school last year and is attending again this year and I can honestly say that this is an excellent school. The teachers care greatly about the students and are willing to have the necessary conversations with parents to bring issues to light that need improving. The owner knows her stuff and is very honest, straightforward and helpful. I have seen tremendous growth not only academically but socially in my daughter during her time at IPR. If you want your child to get a great head start and be surrounded by teachers and staff that truly care about their success, you should
