Services
Brown's Funeral Home was founded by Fred Stoller and was originally named Stoller Memorial Chapel. In the beginning, the funeral home was located where Lutz Hardware is located today. In 1965, Gordon Brown bought the funeral home from Mr. Stoller after moving down to Camas from Centralia, Washington.
With this General Price List from Brown's Funeral Home, you and your loved ones will be empowered not only to make comparisons with other funeral homes in the area, but be better prepared to make your funeral or cremation arrangement decisions as well. Further explanation and price quotations are always available upon request.
Many people plan for life events such as weddings and vacations well in advance, but many people do not plan for something that is certain to happen, their funeral. While most people do not want to think about their own mortality, the time to pre-plan your funeral is now.

The primary advantages of pre-arranging your funeral is to relieve the burden on your loved ones in an already emotional time, and to ensure your funeral is carried out according to your wishes, eliminating the task of second-guessing what you would have wanted.Taking the time now to arrange your funeral is one less thing your loved ones will need to worry about once you've passed.
After a death, there are many legal details to hammer out. While it is not necessary to get a lawyer, it is strongly recommended. A lawyer will make sure all the 't's are crossed and i's are dotted. The time following a death of a loved one is extremely emotional, and even the closest family will have disagreements over the most trivial matters.
Family and friends getting together to honor a loved one's life is one of the most important steps in the grieving and healing process. You may opt to have a traditional religious or military service, or as more and more people are doing, you can choose to have a non-traditional 'life celebration'.

The owner of this establishment is racist. When dropping off a check last week, Ron spewed racist language about the Black Lives Matter movement. I could not wait to get out of his horrible presence. The professional services he provided were satisfactory. Overall, the racist language ruined the experience for me.

Given that there are relatively few reviews for Brown's Funeral Home, I thought I'd offer a fuller review.

My family first used Brown's in 2015 when our mother died. We selected Brown's based on the recommendation from a pastor at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, who spoke favorably about their service and reasonable pricing. Brown's came through for us. While the services they provided were straightforward (cremation and obtaining death certificates without any hosting any memorial service), they did their job with care and compassion and at a reasonable cost.

We just used browns to bury my grandmother. The service was good except for a few major things. During the entire service we could hear their phone ringing through out the sound system. It rang about 8 times before someone in the back got up and went into the office to talk to the receptionist. She said their trying to fix it just as it started ringing again! Our friend told her to just take it off the hook (a simple solution) and the receptionist just gave her a cold glare! There was also a cell phone ringing through the system as well. They were also operating the slide show in the back on their

My husband died after a short illness at the age of 61. I had no idea how to proceed. Browns was so wonderful. They cared about our family wishes and not all the extras that cost more. I would send my most loved ones here for their honesty and compassion. Since my loss I have personally become acquainted with Gretel. Knowing her character and compassion, I would have no problem leave every detail in her hands. When your life is devistated it is important to be able to trust. Browns is this.

We recently used Brown's for our father's funeral. The programs were printed incorrectly and without a proofread. My sister ended up sitting down at the computer in the funeral home and did them herself.
The flowers were the wrong color and we paid for roses. We received carnations in the wrong color.
We felt they were overall unprofessional--we were told by Gretel she had a chest cold when questioning the programs. And the owner, in discussions, only wanted to talk about himself.
